    Good morning all image

Gorgeous here - 18.4C at 6am!    Shame I have to go into the city on the bus to get my hair cut at midday, but it I don't I'll look like a shaggy sheep on Saturday and Panda won't recognise me when I meet her off the train!

David Spikes - you were talking about nectarine recipes - have you tired this one?  It's absolutely wonderful!  http://mainlybaking.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/stone-fruit-yogurt-cake.html Huge favourite in this house image  It works for peaches, and plums too.

Morning all image Gorgeous sunshine here, no swimming for me today, don't usually go on a Thursday but was going to as I can't go tomorrow morning because of early start, but my muscles are way too achy and also the plants need watering before I go out.

Enjoy your haircut Dove and hammock relaxing Bekkie, wish I was doing that image

  • OL, my house is well insulated and if I keep windows and doors closed it stays cooler than outside. Bedroom is on northern side and that helps too. Drawing curtains on south side might help again?

Hi Woody, ours is south facing, gets the sun all afternoon.  I do draw the blinds and it helps a bit but lock the windows open, OH  likes fresh air! The downstairs seems to stay quite cool but upstairs just gets so hot, I wonder if it's because we don't have a loft, the rooms are in the eaves in effect?

  • Hi, yes I think loft living might be a trifle warm at moment.image

Yes Woody - a bit of forethought can help in this weather can't it?  We're open plan downstairs and have plantation-style blinds at the windows,so on hot days we open the windows and set the blinds at an angle to reflect the sun back outwards - that means we get a cooling breeze through the house and the heat stays outside image

Good morning it's going to be a scorcher today, hope we don't get Dove's temperatures from yesterday image

I need to get my watering done and the sun brollies out, I think today will be a rest day. Saying that I think I've already had my rest I was awake at 5am and have been in conservatory reading so I didn't make any noise and wake weary OH.

I've looked back and don't think we heard from Clari, or if Chicky got her tooth sorted.

Hope the salt mines are okay for everyoneimage
