Cold day today, so have been 'planning' imageimageimage mixed feelings there!  I'm going to extend the bed I made last year, remove the grasses I planted as I'm not getting on with them - fed up of trying to work out if they are dead or alive!

the bed is alone a path with purple slate on the other side of it, so I think I'll start with black grass (orphigithingy) to compliment the slate. Next thinking of acid green plants to set of the black - maybe hosta, harts tongue fern and just looked at something called aralia sun king. Further into the bed maybe some purple leaved taller plants like canna or dahlia. It'll be full view of the house so I'll need to think about evergreens too, I've a pittosporum Tom thumb I can move. I do like planning!

My grasses look rather dead too Verdun, was wondering if that was normal. Planted them last year.

    Hi all.

Back from a few days in St. Andrews, for the annual gathering of my OHs family [ 22 of us in all ]

gorgeous weather, so my collection of fleeces and Gortex was not needed.

Spent a few hours in my BILs new garden, he has not gardened before, but is very keen. I was able to point out what he already had, give him a few planting suggestions, plus gave him a lot of plants that I had spare.

Lovely to hear your good news fidget and am pleased the service for your Dad went well Dove.

Hope everyone is well, I am off for a lie down having drunk far too much in the last few days.

How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

Glad Chicky and punkdoc had good times.

We went to Bodium Castle and took the steam train to Tenterden, where we had a lovely lunch.

SG Lily, my sister recently moved from Surrey, is now near the Ashdown Forest.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
