Little cottage I wouldn't mind, but sorry soggy tents in English weather,  image I'd rather stay at home. But we're all different, whatever floats your boat.image

    Morning all.

Lovely and sunny here, after a day of torrential rain, the garden is looking a bit bedraggled, my inadequate staking has been exposed.

Used to camp a lot in the mountains. One night in the Cairngorms, the tent was leaking and I decided to investigate. Went outside and was terrified to see a ghostly apparition through the mist. Next night in the pub I mentioned this rather sheepishly to some locals, who laughed, telling me that I had seen the albino Reindeer.

    Have a lovely day.

    Morning all.

    I don't mind caravans provided:

A: I never have to sleep in one.

and B: they don't come anywhere near Devon or Cornwall. image

I don't ask for much, but I do insist on a duck down duvet and an en suite power shower.

Sunnyish morning here. Might even get "warm" later.

Have a nice weekend one and all.

    Devon.

I don't do tents or caravans either. OH always camped with his first wife (who died) and my first husband (died) and I used to rent gites or villas, which worked well with 4 children and is quite cheap in France. But now I like B & Bs. Usually cheaper than hotels, the people who run them I have found to be friendly and welcoming. The rooms are usually comfortable with nice little touches, like flowers and perhaps a chocolate (wrapped!) on the pillow. The best ones are usually run by male gay couples who really seem to have a knack for it. The one we went to in Suffolk in the Dedham Vale was just gorgeous http://www.poplarsfarmhouse.com/  - I hope that doesn't count as advertising.

I was hoping to get out and do a blitz on the veg garden which has shoulder high weeds (last did it early July), but it's raining again.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
