Thanks for compliments.. I did post quite a bit last year but its been a very busy year (getting the barn finished inside etc etc) so the gardens taken a bit of a back seat over winter (and it was covered in 6 ft of snow at one point).
Looks like its going to be another good day though . Coffee and a quick read outside of S Ravens Sissinghurst book (we're off for the weekend soon) then back to the garden. May have to post some pics of mystery foliage at some point as Im clueless whats emerging in some of the beds despite starting with meticulous plans.
Morning all, gosh, what a lot of chat on here already!
Dove said "I lose track of who's on holiday, who's working, who's poorly, who's injured, who's annoyed their OH and who's buried their OH in the compost heap "
You're blushing Dove, is your OH the one is the compost heap?
My OH has gone off to a talk on English Cathedrals. I'm supposed to be tidying the house before the house sitter comes tomorrow, but I've been potting on tomatoes in the GH.
DD, I'm sure they'll be delighted you care about the garden. You could have grassed it all over instead but you didn't.
Clari, I'm glad you had a good holiday. What did you do?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Well that was a mistake. Went up to the GC, to get some Iris chrysographies for the boggy bed, which they had ordered for me and the whole of Sheffield seemed to be in there. It was like the supermarket, with trollies blocking al the aisles.
Not pleasant, I now remember why I buy most stuff on line.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Oh RB you made me laugh about the polish and reminded me when once many moons ago my best friend and I thought it would be a good idea to start a house cleaning business. We did one house once! We were in there one hour and they had shag pile carpet which we ruffled with our hands so it looked spruced up and sprayed polish in the air. We then discovered her husband was head of the local police and knew my mates son! We laughed so much we cried I know well bad but I was very young!
Punk doc, did you get your iris though?
fatel for me and even more fatel for OH is that we have moved three mins walk away from the garden centre and they deliver to me for two pounds! Just been over and ordered more shingle and cobbles for around the pond, John innes and walked home with a rambling rose and some alpines! He is gonna kill me lol

Morning all. Gorgeous sunny morning and so little wind our local turbine is still which is a rarity.
Finish cutting the grass and OH says he'll carry on weeding.
Sounds like a good plan Hosta - I'm heading for the GC - I need some FYM (well, the garden does, not going to spread it on myself if I can avoid it!)
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

watch out for those sticky plants which attach themselves to you or your trolley. Lots of folk have been caught by them lately.
I got caught yesterday Hosta - do you think it might happen two days running?

hopefully not. Lightning never strikes twice . and all that
Let us know how you get on. It's a minefield out there.
