Oh don't! I THINK I've got all the gifts sorted out now (partner still hasn't started his yet and he's only shopping for one person - my brother!) So can sit back and pace til the postman comes but it just doesn't feel like the festive period has kicked off yet, I feel more as though its October (mind you I don't watch that much television so its not being pushed down my throat with festive adverts for tat). I think we need a little bit of snow (just a little mark you) to remind us that the Solstice is on its way!
Morning all. Must start Christmas cards. I buy them in England as they are expensive and not very nice here. Must buy C. tree. Must plant last bag and a half of tulips. Must pick greenery and tie in bunches with red ribbon to decorate Abbey for Carol Service.
Have finished spreading out the 6 tons of "castigne" (limestone gravel with clay) in front of horse shelter and the path to the dung heap. Have bought presents for 6 grandchildren.
Was -4° this morning and -7° yesterday, so getting warmer! Sunshine.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I didn't know eringinums were hard to move. I swapped a red foliage one from back to front and a 'grey' one the other way - just dug them up and stuck them in, perhaps it was a case of 'ignorance is bliss', because they have both taken
Have to do a , what I hope will be, a final leaf clearing.
PD - I see what you mean about the tap root, I dug down must be 2' and still didn't get it all. Loads of little shoots around as well, so now I have them everywhere, lots all over in the ground (probably won't remember where, and dug up some tulips I'd forgotten about), some in the cold frame and some in the GH.
Decided not to take a chance on lavender stoechas. so unwrapped them from bubble wrap and fleece, rearranged GH and put them in there, so some stuff got relegated to the coldframe instead to make room.
