Enjoy Cats Panda - great showimage

Woken upto rain (OH got the hosepipe out last night, so it was bound to happen) but don't think it will be here for long.  Not a bad thing to give everything a bit of a water. Not sure what i am doing today, but thing I will try and get some more stuff pricked out, and my snowdrops fed before they disappear for another year.

loved the irises on GW - brilliant purplesimage

    Good morningimage

    I'm here Lilyimage

Been up for ages but, listening to the wind and rain, I opted for watching recorded GW and Beechgrove programmes.  The sun is out again and been out for a walk which was nice but a bit on the cool side.

    No snow yetimage

Lucky you Jimmy, seeing a greenfinchimage.  We used to have lots but the council saw fit to fell all the trees at the backimage.  On the upside we do get yellowhammers nowimage

Have a great time at the theatre Panda - it's fantasticimage.

DD your garden is wonderful but all due to the very hard work you have put inimage

Morning All, Well, I seem to be the lucky one, it rained over night but this morning is beautiful and sunny.  Just been round the garden and everything has enjoyed the rain, lots of sleeping plants have opened their eyes and bloomed.

The hostas from the mag have done well, only Halycon to appear, all the others now showing either in the garden or in pots.

Something has been nibbling the lilly shoots, couldn't see any red devils but they are definitely around somewhere.  No agastaches yet image but everything else is looking good.

Enjoy Cats Panda, if you love costume and dance you will have a ball.

Hope all salt miners have a good day.

No agastache here yet either Yvie - it is a daily quest to checkimage.  Keep me posted on yours - it gives me hope to know I'm in good companyimage.  I have (?hadimage) black adder, blue boa, blue fortune and some I grew from seed......none are showing, and I can't believe i have lost all 20 of themimage

We've got a pair of greenfinches too!!! image  Haven't had any here for a couple of years but now ... Hurrah!!!

Also a very tame robin - his missus must be nesting nearby image

Right, taking daughter to the GC for some ericaceous compost - see you tonight folks! image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Made the mistake of sowing Agastache seeds without realising it'll take 30 to 90 days to germinate. Ah well, they'll be grand for next year.

Dove, if you get out of the GC with a bag of ericaceous compost and nothing else you'll get a gold starimageimage

You know how to show a girl a good time Doveimage

It's good to know I'm in good company Chicky, mine were bare rooted Blue Boa  I think it would have been better if I had potted them up first (as per Verdun's advice) rather than putting them straight in the garden but everything else has been ok.  Will certainly let you know if, and when, they appear.

First shoot from my new Dahlias has appearedimage.  Another 3 to go.

Just had a delivery of bare rooted rose 'For Your Eyes Only', it was on offer for £3.99 from T&M so wasn't expecting much. It was a good sized rose about 3ft from root tip to top,  with good roots but it does look sorry for itself and arrived in a plastic bag and a large padded envelope.  Have got the roots soaking at the moment.  Will find somewhere for it later.  Had hoped to put it in a container but the roots seem too big for the container I had in mind so will have to rethink.
