I feel behind because I've been so busy. OH's choir had their Christmas Show on Fri and Sat and I was helping with the meal and the costumes. Also I'm organising the C of E Carol Service in the Abbey in conjunction with the French Catholics. Just been to printers for the Service booklets. About 150 - 200 people, French and English come. We serve mince pies (I make 120) and mulled wine afterwards (25 litres, made by me as mulled wine lady is away). Abbey to decorate, I've found a volunteer.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
All presents bought in one go yesterday, christmas trees up and decorated this morning and cards done this afternoon…. am I smug or what? Anyway my reward is dinner in Pub with friend this evening.
Well our Christmas tree this year is a large twiggy beech branch which has now been decorated. Although my description makes it sound awful, it is actually quite nice. No cards written and no presents bought, I must get motivated. I have however bought the wine. Get your priorities right!
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Lily, smile was painted on. At least it was only a half day! Thanks for your concern, and thank you all for your love And in just over a week and a half I am on my Christmas hols!!
Christmas prep in our house is on go slow at the moment. I too would like to see pics of the twig tree
Yes please pd - a pic of twig and sparkle would be great!
Almost as smug as woody, this pm have finished cards and decs, wrapping tomorrow.
OH's cousin always brings card to the house, always before I've done any and I end up writing it while he's there, he even choses which one! Not this year! He's not been yet and I've done his card (twice because I lost the first one!). Phew! First time for everything (as ?kef? said this morning).
OH has said we can go to a Christmas Tree Farm on tomorrow to buy a tree. As we have never been before, not sure of the way so could be Verrry Interrrresting!!
Still better than going to the farm shop we went to last year.
Feeling a bit more perky today, still can't see. guess I must be getting used to it, was miserable when trying to shop earlier, feels odd 'peering' at everything
We put up Christmas in dining room today except for the tree (pretend) as that is where my winter project is. Does anyone re-arrange furniture as well, I have, now in new permanent positions, well swapped rooms with a couple of little bits
Matty I hope your eyes recover soon, what was the latest news about them, I noticed a few others were reassuring as they'd has similar problems. Fingers crossed for you. Xmas tree farm sounds great.
Plan to move neighbours sea holly to my garden tomorrow.with permission! It seems a bit late and cold but really hope its ok. Any tips please? When I say sea holly I think that's its name, very good blue colour, star shaped flower, very spikey.
I love sea holly, haven't got my own plant, just buy some sometimes with flowers looks great in vases with pale pink roses. Would like to know proper name too. Then could get some to go in garden.
So glad your feeling a bit better Panda. Keep smiling

Keep going Panda. It might be like wading through treacle, but you'll get there in the end.
