loved the squirrel story. If a spray works its easily solved though. GW last night reminded me that a return trip to Heligan is long overdue - is it on your list for your jollies Dove ?
time for a browse and a cuppa.
Very tempting ... although we've promised ourselves that this holiday won't involve too much driving (after we've actually got there). As OH doesn't drive he worries that it's not much of a rest for me. We'll also probably have overnight stops on the journey down and back - usually I do it in one go but he's beginning to insist! Maybe we'll get as far as Devon then stop for the night and have brunch at a GC if Hosta and Lyn can recommend one near them?

Morning everyone its lovely here I have been grandchildren sitting since 7 while mum and dad go to work they hope to finish early then I must weed and dead head .
Yes Chicki we also must have a return visit to heligan how different it looks now .we first went way back when they only had about 20 car parking spaces on rough ground in a little bit of woodland the walled garden only had rhubarb and wild blackberries as I remember and they were clearing the Italian long garden fond memories of that holiday . Hey ho back to reality and the washing up
Dove, Hubby and I are going on holiday 19th Sept. Staying on a farm just outside Okehampton. The previous 3 years we had stayed at a farm in St Clether, just on the top edge of Bodmin.
We keep saying we will go somewhere different, but we keep getting drawn down that way.
Oooh, I'd love some ice cream ........ but we had a big bowl each of coconut ice cream last night ......
I had thought about mowing the lawns - I've given up thinking about it - it's too hot to mow lawns - 26+C
Do you remember that a few weeks ago a robin flew through the house into our sitting room and perched on the rocking chair? Just now a large green female Southern Hawker dragonfly did exactly the same thing - then it went to the window and was rattling about in the wooden blinds - fortunately I was able to open the window and shoosh it out without it being damaged.

Cricket watching () put Wisley visiting on the back burner til tomorrow - wheres the best bits Steve? Got my Dad with us, so will have to plan our route carefully so as not to exhaust the poor guy.
just been for a wander round the garden - there are hundreds of bees and butterflies out there enjoying the flowers and the grasses. Crickets in the meadow are making a right din too
time for another cuppa I think .....important to keep hydrated
Afternoon all! Sounds like most have lovely weather and lovely plans for the day!
Currently awaiting impending step daughter and boyfriend visit! Only see her about twice a year now...so busy these young folks! But she has requested roast beef and gooseberry crumble so guess what I'm doing all day!

Have a lovely day all of you
Morning all.
Beautiful day here, definitely one of those days for sitting and admiring the work done earlier in the year.
Love Helligan, we used to visit every year when we holidayed down there and each time there was something new to see.
We are off garden viewing tomorrow for a few days, visiting Sissinghurst and Great Dixter. Will be the first time at either for me.
Looking forward to hearing about your walk Fairy.
Have a lovely day all.

Garden is being beautifully and cheaply watered.

That seems quick Steve! Did you like Wisley? Have you any photos? Did you buy any plants? Did you meet anyone from here?
