Good morning all Thanks for kind wishes - yesterday was a bit odd - the Funeral Director who had seemed very efficient at our last meeting had developed a head full of feathers! Nevertheless the lady vicar seems to have a grip on things and I'm sure Pa's day will be just fine. The florist has some lovely ideas for our flowers and sister in law (who is a talented flower arranger herself) will do the flowers in the church - everything white with splashes of yellow and green and twisted willow - natural woodland effect. Caterer will be doing tea and cakes sort of thing in the church hall afterwards, along with plenty of sausage rolls (Pa's favourite). Poor old chap, he did love good food and for so long he had to have it pureed so that definitely meant no sausage rolls! I've given brother a list of things, events, memories etc, and he's started on the eulogy - he'll read it and I'll do a bible reading. Just waiting for the Order of Service proofs now ...
Today I plan to play in the garden
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Verdun I've been worried about you having to make a compromise in your garden and wanted to help by taking the Buzz magenta off your hands. It's really no trouble.
KEF and Pdoc glad you had a nice afternoon.
Yvie I am intrigued by your new container and can't wait to see a pic.
Neighbours can be very strange - at least your's did admit it was your tree Lily, and fidget's should learn to speak English instead of sending smoke signals.
Nearly the weekend again chicky. Hope Hosta can finish early.
Sorry to those who said hello last night, i nodded off!
Wonderful sunny day today, having a rest from tree removal while ribs heal.....boooo! At least my lovely inlaws collected two sacks of cuttings to put in their bin- every little helps as they say!
Hope all the viruses have gone and poorly backs feel better, although i suspect there will be more while we have this amazing weather
Hmm, I may need to rethink my plans and travel down to Verduns side of the country and go in the riot van instead: somewhat smaller than the fire engine and traffic wardens struggle to get to the windscreen to put tickets on it when you put the shieldS down. Traffic always seems lighter when you drive it too...
A day off at long last! His lordship has left quite the to do list (as well as my own jobs) but does involve a trip to Doncaster to collect some items so maybe my satnav will strike lucky and find a garden centre between here and there. We can hope! My bay tree got thrown around in the high winds and is now sat in a compost bag pending a new pot looking very sorry for itself.
