This is only my second year of proper sowing Hosta, I've done bits before but not as much as last years and this, I'm so glad to hear that the feeling of excitement doesn't get diminish the more you do it. Cosmos, more sunflowers and my free GW seeds now sown .
I think I need to have a lok at this Poldark bloke, my best friend was showing me pics of him doing something topless in a field and skinny dipping on Friday......I've feel I've been missing out
My mystery 'weed' looks very much like self heal but all info says that doesn't flower until June and the leaves aren't the same, but the flower is very similar, so is the way it was growing (ie spreading with rizonnes - I think that is spelt wring but you know what I mean) I have found some more on my border and left it for now until I identify it because it is pretty and I'm not sure it is a 'weed' - although obviously when it's where I want my carrots and parsnips to grow it is!! I will take a pic tomorrow and then I'll now whether to get rid or keep it.
I've just ordered 2 varieties of dwarf sunflower......so that will be 5 varieties altogether that I'm growing, is that too many and does it class as being a Sunflower addict
I've sown 5 variietes as well - definitely not a sunflower addict - would just like them to flower - all germinated so far as to maturity - I wait to see!!!
I did sow a 6th Matty but it didn't germinate, a little bit gutted as its one of my favourites and you can't buy it now, it was very kindly sent to me by a forum member and I really wanted it to grow That is why I've ordered the 2 dwarf varieties (it was one but I thought a colour combination would look nice )
Dove, I missed your above post, you'll get sowing soon, I've only started in the last couple of weeks because of work so your not far behind and will soon catch up. Sending love to you xx
I've got a pile of Sunflowers out in the cold frame waiting for the weather to definitively turn, then I need to find somewhere to actually put the blighters..
Last year I spaced mine out and they looked a bit rubbish, this year I am doing a sunflower 'patch' with the black Magic and Vanilla Ice, the regular tall sunflowers are going in a different patch and the dwarfs are for pots on the patio......Sunflower Fest
Had a lovely day - a walk on the downs (during which the sun came out and we were treated to wall-to-wall blue skies) and lots of laughs. My niece made an Easter cake - fabulous
