Afternoon folks, spent the morning in the garden doing bits and pieces.  My friend phoned to say she didn't feel like the trip to Ironbridge.  Praise be I thought, I don't want to go either, much rather be in the garden.

Was really dull earlier but brightening up a bit now.  Time for a cuppa and a slice of toast then I might pop out again and do a bit more.

Unpacked and put washing machine in motion, turned plants and seedlings on the windowsill that were trying to get out and am now able to relax a bit.  Hoping for another nice day tomorrow so I can get in the gardenimage

Just ordered two more Clematis, yes I know I said I didn't have any more room but I'm going to dig p some of the patio and put a load of soil down.  I have ordered Montana Sunrise and Macropetala Snowbird. I'm going to plant them to the left hand site of the shed against the fence, I want to train the Montana over the shed so that it softens the monstrosity that is next doors extension.  They are both Type 1 so I can pretty much leave them to their own devices and just prune the Montana when it gets too unruly.  With a bit of luck I should get 4 months of flowers out of them.

Turned out nice in the end.

Managed a few hours pottering, can't think what I actually did, but it seemed to keep me busy.

Yvie, I don't think you can ever have too many clematis, lots of vertical interest, for very little foot print.

Hi OL lovely to see you image Make sure you don't have stones or pebbles in the veg bed if you are growing parsnips(and be patient) Carrots you might need to fleece early carrots to keep root fly off them, I grow in sacks the devils only jump about a foot ( I think) image
