Afternoon folks, spent the morning in the garden doing bits and pieces. My friend phoned to say she didn't feel like the trip to Ironbridge. Praise be I thought, I don't want to go either, much rather be in the garden.
Was really dull earlier but brightening up a bit now. Time for a cuppa and a slice of toast then I might pop out again and do a bit more.
Back home after a surprisingly good journey both traffic and weather wise.
Unpacked and put washing machine in motion, turned plants and seedlings on the windowsill that were trying to get out and am now able to relax a bit. Hoping for another nice day tomorrow so I can get in the garden
Pleased you had a good journey home Lesley and seedlings are okay.
It's been dry today Had stuff to do but can garden tomorrow so fingers crossed for good weather, any spare sun send it here Verdun, I'll buy you a donut.
Just ordered two more Clematis, yes I know I said I didn't have any more room but I'm going to dig p some of the patio and put a load of soil down. I have ordered Montana Sunrise and Macropetala Snowbird. I'm going to plant them to the left hand site of the shed against the fence, I want to train the Montana over the shed so that it softens the monstrosity that is next doors extension. They are both Type 1 so I can pretty much leave them to their own devices and just prune the Montana when it gets too unruly. With a bit of luck I should get 4 months of flowers out of them.
Hello everyone, not had chance to catch up and have just popped in for a break......I have actually been gardening at last - yippee I've just finished planting out all my free perennials from last year and am hoping for a lovely colourful garden this summer, the Geums have come on brilliantly and I'm really pleased at everything I've just planted for only £5
Now I just need to start on my veg patch......determined to get carrots and parsnips in tis weekend.
Hi OL lovely to see you Make sure you don't have stones or pebbles in the veg bed if you are growing parsnips(and be patient) Carrots you might need to fleece early carrots to keep root fly off them, I grow in sacks the devils only jump about a foot ( I think)

Turned out nice in the end.
Managed a few hours pottering, can't think what I actually did, but it seemed to keep me busy.
Yvie, I don't think you can ever have too many clematis, lots of vertical interest, for very little foot print.
