The first telly we had after we got married in 1975 was a 2nd-hand b&w model. While it warmed up the picture kept flicking upwards, then you could watch for about 20mins before the picture started flicking downwards...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

The man didn't come to our house my Dad just thumped it
and at Grandma's they turned it off and shut the doors on the cabinet
