    Looking good Johnimage.

Welcome Hours go byimage.  I've always used toilet roll tubes for sweet peas but only in plastic bag lined beer boxes (well the men in the house leave so many lying around).  It's great to be able to plant the whole thing out without root disturbance but always either bury the rim of cardboard or tear it off.  It acts like a wick taking moisture away from the plant.

Congratulations Yvieimage.  Must go and look up your petuniaimage

    Hello all

Yesterday put up the second 5 tier green house for seedling,  which went in today

Been out in the garden a bit cutting bits near the washing line away - trees, holly and rose bits from next door and our side now hand wrist sore from prickles as they kept getting me but big pile of bits to cut up now to go into the garden waste bin

    rather windy out today

    Hello all!

Welcome, Hours go by.  I wonder what your "name" will get abbreviated to...  I tend to be known as Liri on here as it's less of a mouthful.

I always cheat with the little bedding I grow, and buy a little pot of seedlings from the GC to grow on, since I have nowhere warm and light to germinate things this time of year.  (It's often cheaper than buying a packet of seeds, too!)  Later in the season the growhouse is full of hardy things requiring less cosseting (primulas, trees & shrubs, wild flowers and such), mostly grown from seed I've collected myself.  image  I think it must be addictive  image

We had snow overnight too, though it's now disappeared from the hilltops as well as lower down.  Now it's lovely and sunny, but the wind is howling down the chimney.  Just a little reminder that here in the pennines it might be premature to assume it's spring...  image

Yvie, actually my little granddaughter is too young to realise that if she shares something with someone, she has less for herself.  I don't suppose it'll be very long before she cottons on to that though!  She'll be one next week, bless her...  image

Right.  The stairs are covered with cat hair and even I can't leave the cleaning any longer...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Been rose pruning, but it rained.

Going to eat soon and watch TV in front of woodburner.

I wonder how Dove is today.

    Evening all image

Have been busy today, but not in the garden image Finally got around to painting our bedroom image Have had the paint for approx. 2 years image It is rather spesh paint and doesn't smell, and dries really fast image This means that I can see the patchy job I have done image Oh well, second coat tomorrow image
