Hi, hope everyone has enojyed Mother's Day. I had a lie in for the first time this year, although cut short by my mum turning up unexpectedly! Then shopping, lunch out with hubby and little un, a garden centre and home with 2 new mini polytunnels to look after my peas for a bit.
Yviestevie, I'm waiting for some Briza Media seeds to arrive, have been told they're easy to grow so hoping they'll do well.
made the decision (not my strong point!), and moved the precious amelanchier a few inches to the left so it's more central - feels instantly better .
While I was at it I moved the solanum to the apple tree away from tender stuff and delicate fences.
About a third dug over, gently! oh so many things I don't recognise!
Got two weeks left , away on hol for 2 more , then I can start on seeds etc...
Not going for sweet pea seeds though. Gonna buy plants and grow up the gazebo, nice smelly ones. Plus have a few perennial ones dotted about, they arent very smelly though.
Mrs G, I love the old-fashioned smelly sweet peas too. Usually grow them with the runner beans at the end of the row, as I cut them all for the house. Unbeatable fragrance, I reckon.
Well, Mum was ok and liked her daffs, so that was good. Glad so many mums have had happy days.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Hello everyone, I hope all mums and grand mums and have a lovely day today. I have, nothing too exciting but spent time with my boys, went to the GC a and bought seeds and spuds and have been in the garden / GH and sowing.......it feels great to have finally made a start, I just hope I'm not too late.
KEF what do I do with my Dave tomato seeds? With them being outdoor I didn't know whether they should be started now indoors like my others or wait a bit?
Also I have some cosmos seeds saved from last year, do I just sow them indoors like the packet ones?
Sunflowere sown too........I have to live up to my name, 4 varieties including Vanilla Ice which are new this year
Hello Sunflower Lady good to 'see' you Glad you've had a lovely day.
Going to have a snooze on the sofa now, but must wake up in time to watch Poldark - did you know that this time Verdun is playing the role of Ross Poldark
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I'd read that Verdun and friends down in Cornwall are actually complaining about the accent Dove.
I'm off for my Sunday soak and pamper with my Lush goodies from my boys and then am going to steal the remote and watch GW......seen as Mr Clarkson has been good enough to free up Sunday night TV for m I hope you are well x

Just checked the propagator and I have baby cleome. Hurrah.
Neither my blue boa or black adder are showing new growth yet, but I am waiting patiently
I mulched and fed and potted as planned - about to go and soak in the bath in an attempt to enable me to stand upright tomorrow
Plus was treated by the chicklets - flowers and chocs and scarves and pots ....lovely day.
