Kent hasn't half done well this week too with wall to wall sunshine
Verdun, the rose for your mother is a lovely thought,
Hosta enjoy your special time with OH do we have names for the clematis?
Have finally decided on my 5 clematis: Rebecca; Lampton Park; Dark Eyes; Confetti and Mary Rose and I chose them with planting positions so no headaches when they get here and no offence to Taylors Clematis but I'm glad I don't have to type those words into the search engine for a while
Evening all, back from keep fit class, first for two weeks because of school vacations here, not sure what is has to do with our class but everything shuts if schools do.
Lovely idea for your mum Verdun. The DA roses in my 'new' rose garden are planted in honour of both my mum and OH's mum, with a nod to the future with one named Charles Rennie Mackintosh, for Charlie, just hope I don't kill it.
Have visions of me sitting on my little bench (yet to be purchased) under my trellis covered in climbing rose and clematis entwined (yet to be planted) with a glass of wine in hand reminiscing over happy memories of our mums. Can but dream, will probably be out there trying to cure rust and kill green/blackfly whilst yelling at Charlie (and Shadow) for walking on my plants.
Dove there is a beautiful racecourse near here (Pompadour) and I have said to OH we must go to a least one meet this year, it's virtually on the doorstep, can't not go. Thought the race was fantastic, well deserved win and such a lovely family affair, great for the smaller guys to get a look in.
Have a good evening all, happy gardening over the week-end and Happy Birthday celebrations to all concerned and of course Happy Mother's Day.
Apparently son & OH have decided that we have to abide by French rules and therefore have a couple of months to wait for my Mother's Day, don't worry I won't let them forget it.

We had a lovely late birthday lunch out, bought OH's piano stool and a secateur on a pole for pruning climbing roses. Much cooler today, drizzly, 8°.

Nice chicky, can't wait for mine
The weather here today was the best we have had for ages and I wasn't home to take advantage of it, but did have a good afternoon out
.
Verdun I looked up your rose and it looks gorgeous and it's described as having a lovely perfume. Seems a perfect choice
Lizzie, glad you found a piano stool and that you have been able to celebrate with OH eventually
Hosta, have a great time with OH, your daughter and boyfriend
. Sounds as though you had fun shopping.
Most of you have been doing well in the garden with planting, digging holes, lugging compost and planning
. Really want to get my teeth into it now.
Hope everyone has a good evening
