Bekkie we had substitutions in the online shop today and some not available, Lidl have a cheap ish GH if yours it not too good http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?id=502 and a good lot of gardening gear from Thursday 5th
I got a parcel as well a long purple tube for my hand held dyson with discount
Chicky my snowdrops are in pots waiting to go in ground from garden visit, but well not as many bulbs as you got - my window seeds germinated nicely and are now in the living room taking over a bit of space as south facing and gets the most light
Fed the birds out side as was bit dryer they so needed food and I have not got much left
Hello from the drizzle. No chance of any gardening today, but since I'm aching from yesterday (hands mainly, all that pruning!) I'm glad of the rest.
Shopping done - now trying to get to grips with my French homework before Monday's class. Keeps the old grey cells in trim, I suppose...
Lesley & Bekkie - re the wren. I must make regular visits to the compost and disturb it a bit; don't want a nest in there or I won't be able to use the bin for weeks! There's plenty of undergrowth around for them to nest in, instead - last year they built a nest in the dead fronds of a male fern, growing half way up the retaining wall.
He might not be nesting, though. I noticed there were fruit flies on the banana skins on the heap (because of the warmth, I suppose) so that could be an added attraction for Mr Wren. Cute bird...
No clematis at my Lidl this morning, sadly. But nice big rhodies for £6.99, for anyone with space (ie not me!).
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Thanks GG, i will have a look, ive done my best with this greenhouse, it looks ok, i just need to get some more tape for the joints, when the wind lifts the plastic the joints come undone! Grrrrr
More bad news for you Verdun....ive eaten 2 jam doughnuts as my reward for the hard work , still got 3 left, promise i will share
Panda, ah go on, give some seeds a go hope you warm up!
P'doc, the things you will do to get attention from pretty girls!
RB, sorry to hear about your OHs toe, poor fells has been in the wars recently, i hope hes ok, im sure hes taking no notice!
Just took george for a little walk up the street and back, what do i hear from upstairs the second i get in....im hungry what have we got to eat...its gonna be a loooong weekend!
Love wrens. Mine used to nest in the old swallow's nest until it feel off the wall. Haven't seen the swallows for over 10 years, wonder what happened to them? The wren waits for the bits to fall off the fat balls, which the tits are all over.
Still haven't sown any seeds. I had some cuttings on the kitchen window sill which got covered in whitefly, so I sprayed them and they died.
Verdun, keep off Bekkie's parcel - you know it's not yours.
Daughter's friend and 2 LOs have arrived.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Well I braved the drizzle, planted snowdrops and some white foxgloves, weeded a little and cutback all the grasses ....feels like a productive day. And, even better, i came in because i had worn myself out rather than fading light.
Hi GG, yes thats the one, its truly awful! T&M will give me a refund if i send it back but wont pay the postage, so its now got pots and lumps of concrete holding it down, i havent got any plants in there . You are so good picking litter in the winter, i think the cold weather makes everything feel 10 times worse!
BL, wow, you always have a housefull of people, i bet the little ones love it!
Liri, i was thinking he may decide to move in to your compost bin, but if there is plenty of food there then its understandable, something special about wrens
Well done Chicky, hope you didnt get soaked! Youve gotta feel better for a little time out doors
Bekkie some one left a comment on the GH today on T&M theirs kept going flat in the wind and rain
I know that a camping pup tents would not like this weather as you would not use them till later in the year, so maybe it will be better when weather is warmer and less wind and heavy rain
Have more seats up the station now much better for when it is dry as did not have enough there before (no shelter on those ones as extra seats)
Needs must with rubbish picking once a week or two as rubbish bins would over flow and it all goes in our green bin as they do not collect it from the station yet
That placcy greenhouse looks great GG. Wish I'd seen it before I bought my one - still, my one takes up less room so mustn't grumble, and unlike Bekkie, mine stays put and up!
