Gosh there was a lot to read through! Can't possible answer everyone!

    Fabulous crocuses One of seven.

Dove, please look after yourself or you'll end up with a secondary infection of bronchitis like we did. Though antibiotics have done us the world of good.

We went to the mountains with Daughter 2 today, Lucie and Alexis, 5 and 3. Daughter 1 stayed at my home with her 3 sons (1 poorly one, thanks for your wishes) and my poorly dog. We had a lovely day in Le Mont Dore, built a snowman (not easy, snow dry and powdery, wouldn't stick!), and the children sledged. Lunched in a restaurant, family sort, not smart, full of children.

I've seen it Chicky.  Very weird for me.  When I first saw it on the TV news it was without doubt gold and white for both me and hubby.  I then looked it up on Youtube and then I saw it clearly as black and blue while hubby still stuck to white and gold.

According to the people who conducted the experiment the dress is from Roman (theres a branch in Merry Hill and it's blue and black).  They have put a reason on the internet why some people see it as gold and white, it's something to do with how good your eyes are.  I must admit that for a short while I saw it as Blue and dark brown.

It's given me a headache so I'm not looking at it again.

White and Gold for me image

  • And for me.  image

Lovely day in the garden, tamed the rose hedge, and only a few thorns made their way through the seams on my gloves...  Crocuses are showing more colour than a few days ago, and a thrush in next door's beech tree was singing beautifully as evening fell.  A wren appears to be roosting in my compost bin, squeezing through a ventilation hole in the side, which has been enlarged by a squirrel.  I suppose it must be warm in there...

Fidget, glad you got your power of attorney stuff sorted - it's been great for us with Mum, and so much better to set it up before you actually need it.  We were almost too late because Mum hid the extent of her dementia very successfully even from us, and it wasn't until she admitted she could no longer get money from her bank account because she couldn't remember her PIN, that we realised we had to take over.  The other thing Mum set up, a long time before Alzheimer's set in, was a "Living Will" (I think it's called a "continuing directive") so that her end-of-life wishes are carried out.  It's already been useful for her Home, because Mum is resisting taking much of her medication, and since this is in line with her written wishes the staff are taking a step back.  So much easier for the family than having to make hard decisions on treatment for their loved one, based on what they THINK the loved one would wish.

Sleep well, folks - especially the poorly ones!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
