  • Evening all, lovely afternoon in the garden, nothing major accomplished but lots of ‘roundtuit’ jobs, including turning all three compost heaps, two looking lovely, one might need some of that ‘hurry up’ stuff.image

Also gave my damp dark corner a really good hose down, cleared all the rubbish away and planted up some tubs with the cyclamen and heurchers I bought last week. And of course planted my bargain rose, lots of manure thrown in the hole and the best compost I have, give the poor thing a fighting chance.image

Spent 15 minutes coaxing Marmalade out of the cat flap with a sausage, poor cat just couldn’t pluck up enough courage to come out or work it out. The outside entry clicks when he goes near and releases slightly, think he might be waiting for the same to happen from the inside. Have moved more plant pots around exit so he has more cover and tomorrow will have another go with Charlie on the outside & me on the inside helping him a bit. Have sprayed Feliway all around too so that might calm him.  Poor cat.image

Quiet evening in tonight (gym class on half term too) hurrah.image

Clari – enjoy your ghost hunt; hope they find one or two.

Lots of clematis action on here today, think I will go to Lidl and get one (or two), very useful plants.image

Wintersong and Bekki, think you deserve a restful evening too, hope you get one.

Panda – enjoy guides, sounds like fun.

Hosta – definitely an improvement but don’t be over doing it, you might have to have another exotic holiday.

Pdoc – bad day, always tomorrow.

Oneofseven – beautiful crocus, beautiful, in about 5 years I hope mine will have naturalised to such an extent.

Dove -  hope you feel better tomorrow; this set back thing seems to be quite common.

Kef – Charlie says hello back too, asking all sorts of questions about all of you actually and why we have such strange names.image

Have a lovely evening all, seems I am required to participate in a game of chess, Charlie loves it, me not so much and embarrassing that I have to concentrate so hard with a 7 year old.  image

Evening all, Hey Bekkie if you do go for that Chilli rub just watch what you are doing with your handsimage.  You might rub your eye by mistake.

Glad to hear you are getting better slowly Matty, just take your time.

P'doc you don't seem to be having much joy with all things mechanical at the moment, hope nothing else goes wrong for you.

Those crocus look beautiful 1of7 I'm getting so excited about seeing the back of February.

Clari, don't envy your late night.  Used to have to do late night corporate events at the theatre and quite often didn't get home until the small hours, makes the next day so much harder.

Haven't done much today except play with and cuddle grandaughters.  Expecting a dry day tomorrow so might get some time in the garden.  Still haven't planted those seeds.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Its ok Yvie, i cant cope with that level of heat, i have to wear gloves just to put it on his back, he seems immune to it, must have skin like a rhino! image

Don't worry DD if you believe what the rest say its hard NOT to bump into a ghost in this building. Well they've set up 42 chairs (we impose a limit of 40 people including their staff), "borrowed" all our plastic spoons, had me drag a tea urns worth of water up the stairs as they decided they didn't want to use our coffee shop area as "base" (hopefully the two young children in the room they're using as base will cause some mischief when the biscuits are brought out to make up for it).

Now they're all stood around looking lost and desperately preening their jackets. Only one hour until the guests arrive. Time for a quick nap perhaps? I've two cans of coke and a red bull waiting for me but I'm already yawning!

Bekkie: has he tried tiger balm? As a chronic ouchie I find it sometimes has a fantastic effect on my back when pain killers don't seem to touch it. Mind you that might be due to the streaming eyes when you accidently get a hand too close to your nose.

  • Clari, i dont envy you that shift! I would be curling up and snoozing image

My OH has gone through every muscle rub going i think! Have had tiger balm, i like the smell of that one, deep heat, deep heat max blah blah, he uses it before the gym as well as after, maybe he has no nerve endings left!image

Have given him two of my strongest cocodamol...that should give me a couple of hours peace image

I'm sure you'll wake up once it gets going Clariimage good luck with it

I ache a bit this evening but am really happy with what I've done and the weather today. Lets hope It stays dry enough or nicely windy to dry up the soil a bit, I am dreaming of that lovely crumbly silty stuff that my garden turns into when its fully spring. Very workable.image

Son has arrived for a weekend stay and I'm doing my usual long shifts so I'll be about but not that much.

    Have a lovely weekend forkers.image

  • Now i know why im always so tired...wintersong has my share of energy!image
