-1C here the ground is frozen solid, GH went down to -3C overnight. After a tip from a forum friend I now put a foil turkey roasting tray in the bird bath so I just tip the block of ice out and re-fill, much better than trips with the kettle or ice breaking with my trowel.
Gg & Woody brrrrrrrrrr I'd rather be hungry than cold
Flippin chilly here too - I'd inherited lots of decorative terracotta pots from my Aged Ps' garden - this winter they're suffering badly in the frost and large chunks are falling off them - on the bright side I'll have lots of crocks for potting on etc.

Hi Dove that is a shame, my terracotta pots that are tender are in the GH, luxury I know you don't have, frost proof ones are bubble wrapped and each year when that job comes around I wish I didn't have as many. Is it still as wet in Doveland?
I should have bubblewrapped them - but I didn't - my wrist was sore and OH wrapped the ones that had precious plants in etc, but the ones with spring bulbs in etc we just left - after all they'd been fine every other winter - even the one before last when it was so cold for so long! Hey ho - just an excuse to go shopping again

Sorry, meant to say - it has stopped raining at last I've been told by a friend in Germany that it's International Wetlands Day today - I think my back garden's trying to join in - it's quite boggy out there - but it will soon dry out - it doesn't stay wet for long.

I have just lost a really thick pot, which thought was too strong to break! No terracotta pot is safe if that monster could break,
Hi everyone. Glad to see you are all safe and well this morning.
Have a great day at the salt mines or just doing the stuff that has to be done.
Tired day for me today so no gym but the usual housework and chores.
It's still frosty here in Kent but weak sunshine and strolls around my garden make Flynn a happy pup
