Bill I haven't seen those flowers before they are lovely, thanks for posting the picture.image

We've had a lovely sunny afternoon snow all gone from where it shone but the rest is still there. I have two snowdrops open image hyacinths are coming up and daffs under apple tree image

Gg glad you aren't really wrecked image

Hearty warming food tonight pork & leek sausages, mushy peas and mash with swede in. The spuds were bought from Lidl and have no taste at all so waste not want not I'm hiding them with swede.

Bekkie you are going to have to get tough with George for his own good image three tins of meat a day did I get that wrong? Working, active, fit Springers only need a tin a day and biscuits. Maybe cut his meat meals down and then he can have a few little treats. Not easy but you don't want to have to carry him around, hugs.

Kef, i have to feed him with his meds (3 doses per day), i was wondering if i could get away with half a tin at a time and maybe a little mixer to give it some bulk, will just have to try it, its so odd because hes never been a big eater, difficult to get used to, its a tough one as hes only got a limited amount of time left, even if i did put him on a diet, the chances are he wouldnt live to see the benefitimage

The housework is your good deed for the day, will it be feet up time now? Even if it is with a plateful of tastless spudsimage, plaster it all in gravy, no one will noticeimage

Dove, good to hear your Ma and Pa are well, tjats a very good idea with the gpats milk...but i wouldnt expect anything else from ypu! image

DD, are you asleep yet? Afraid i would be sparko if i had done all that today! Hope you get the car back ok image

Poppy certainly has landed on her feet, mom described her as a "delight" in a text earlier, very unlike my mom! image

Bekkie soz to hear the George is on limited time image I'd do as you suggest reduce his meat meals by half when you give his meds and then he can have other treats, but I'd give treats in the place where he eats not everywhere so he might get out of the habit of begging and upsetting you, if he persist just fuss him as you do and don't reward his begging.  I know you said about not reaping the benefit of a diet but surely he will be happier being mobile. Hugs, not easy but you are his Mum so you need to be the bossimage image

    Hosta hugs

  • Was reading up on his meds earlier, it looks like the stuff hes on is really end off the road stuff, im ok with that as long as it keeps him comfortable. Its not so much that he begs (no point in begging off an almost vegan!) He cries and cries like hes never been fed, even gets up in the middle of the night because hes hungry, lies at the bottom of the stairs crying, i dont know if he forgets he has eaten??? But still glad ive had him RB is right it is an honour to have a pet image

Thanks for the help and kind words imageimageimage
  • Poor George, but sounds like he is lucky to have you Bekkie.

Nice to hear you Ma is smiling again Dove & how nice to "find" a gift. image

Hosta, hope you look very chic now for your hols ( from the knee up anyway)

My day today has been completely bizarre - a horse decided to have a gallop around the garden earlier, no idea where it came from but it was very friendly, is still hanging around outside the gate - I have rung the neighbours (half a mile away) & they are playing detectives for me. image

Had to have a quick trip to SM & had some funny looks as I opened the newly rescued car by using a paperclip. image Really, really hope our own car is back on the road tomorrow, can't cope with the pressure of using a paperclip everytime - I'm afraid I might get arrested. image

Off to Keep Fit now, can't disappoint the teacher even though I am sure I have had enough exercise for one day, luckily it is more social than effort so I should survive. image

  • DD you should write all of this down, would make a fab book! image, and could i have a pint of whatever you take for your energy please! image
  • Bekkie, are you sure it is hunger making your dog cry?   It could maybe be pain. although I see he is on steroids.   This cold weather would exacerbate any pain, I think.   I would ask the vet more questions.   Sorry for you, it is so difficult when the 'patient' cannot tell you exactly what is wrong.
