Dry here and mild, 7·6c lowest through the night and still the same.

Wintersong - I lived in Kent, near Tenterden for 7 years, absolutely beautiful, so many gardens and homes close by.

I have finally finished mulching the dahlias, not many weeds left, so today I am going through my seeds and put into sowing order, but first.

Morning all, damp and dreary here.

I don't want to rub it in, but I have just ordered our currency for our trip to the sun!

I'm not good at warm weather and wall to wall sunshine Pdoc, so you're not rubbing it in here.  I'll be happy surrounded by snowdrops and hazel catkins - but I'm glad you're going to get some sunshine Pdoc - enjoy image

Lyn - while you're at it, my seeds are in two tins on top of the bookcase in the dining room ... pretty please image

RB it will always be 'our day'!

I also have flower seeds in two Roses choc tins and veg in a littld wooden box.

I will sort into Feb, March and April sowings.

I bought a pot of each basil and parsley in Lidls so am off to pot parsley in individual pots to grow on ready for Spring planting, I dont bother to sow parsley seeds any more, there are plenty enough plants in a pot for 89p, not worth bothering.

Lyn, I lived in Kent near Tenterden for 7 years too, before we came to France! I loved it there.

Cold 2°, grey, bleak day, forecast says it's sunny 9° - they should have looked out of the window.

We've been into town to renew OH's NHS paperwork.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Lyn that is such a good idea to order the seeds, would never have thought of it.

Still very grey, misty and dreary here today. Probably warmer than it feels to me because I hate damp weather. Going out to measure up for some hard landscaping. Local Travis Perkins has 3 pallet loads of paving on discount that might do very nicely. image

I was in Rolvenden Layne , Lizzie, mum lived in St Michaels. Both children went to school in Tenterden.

Afraid I can't keep up with this Tenterden lot...I've lived in humble-tumble Ashford since I were a teen, but was brought up in Germany before that and I met my hubby in Ashford 28yrs ago so can't complain image

Just got back from the GC image with 4 packs of Allium Gladiator reduced in price £2 each, 5 boxes of dry root Echinacea White Swan (three plants in each box) plus 1 box of Echinops ritro with 3 plants, on offer: buy 3 for £6.

And a large size Box ball reduced to £7.50 Bargain!

Ermm, is that everything? Oh yeah and one happy puppy since his food came with a new ball (weirdly enough) which he's busy rolling around with as we speak.image

Well, now lunch is out of the way, I'm off to soak those root-balls for a few hours before potting them all up for somewhere sheltered...the cold frame would be okay right?

Kettle is on if anyone wants anything.

Wonderful walk (its really not too cold outside) into the nearest town to get some very boring and grown up bank stuff done. Unwittingly my shoes took me past a very small pet store home to a lovely and so friendly border collie so I was out much longer than expected (and ended up buying more toys for the dog we don't yet have!) Unfortunately the small garden centre seemed to have very mouldy bulbs and thick layers of dust on faded labels so I don't think we'll be getting any bargains from there.(Good job too: I've spent far too much on dog toys and bits recently!)

The house is feeling very grey now all the lights and twinkly bits have gone. I'm definitely going to have some spring flowers in pots ready to rock in the greenhouse that we can bring inside after the decorations get put away.

I wonder if an afternoon nap would be acceptable?

  • Shhh Clari, sure it will be fine.....just don't tell anyone image.......or just call it a siesta....sounds better image
