Verdun, looks like you're going to be OK.  The suspected Cornish Ebola victim has tested negative so you're fine to get out and about.

Sounds like a good evening Woody, I've only just got used to writing 2014 nevermind 2015.  I sometimes find myself starting to write 1990 something.

  • Just when I've started digging my bunker, Yvie. It's one way of getting seen by the NHS. Just say you've been to Africa and are feeling a bit poorly.

I hope everyone has a very happy New Year.

  • I put the following on the wrong thread image

The blackbirds are chasing the collared doves, the collared doves are looking embarrassed.  The goldfinches are on the feeders, the Gt Tits are trying to drive them off, the Blue Tits have given up and are hopping about in the ash trees looking for spiders etc and the robin is perched on the top of one of the trees shouting at the lot of them. It's lovely out there image

Update to above:  The collared doves have moved onto the roof opposite and are behaving as if it's St Valentine's Day image  Is Spring here? image

    Afternoon all.

Very sore after the exercise of starting to saw up the fallen trees, so no more work today.

Trying not to look at greenhouse, it just makes me sad.

Quiet night in planned, used to love New Years eve, always out on the raz, but now I find it a bit sad.

Hope you all have a good one.

Unlikely to be a flower count, as still under 6 inches of snow.

How can you lie there and think of England

No going out on the raz here Pdoc, few drinks something nice to eat and up bright and early, unlike years ago when I was dead until noon  image  image on the 2nd image

Not a bad day so far, had a lovely visit from my nieces and nephew, one from Australia, one from Spain and one from Shrewsbury.

Popped round to see mum and she is looking much better and cheerful.

Have just done a quick wiz round the greenhouse and garden (doesn't take long) and also fed the birds. (Not many for the flower count)

Now about to light the fire and settle in for the evening.

  • OH still at work so we're not going out tonight - we'll stay in, have a lovely supper and a bottle of fizz and fall asleep on the sofa.  Someone else's fireworks will wake us up and we'll go to bed so we can get up early to do the Flower Count image

Kef- did make me chuckle image.

    Dove - oops.

My bird feeder just seems to attract pigeons at the moment. I dont think i get up early enough for me to see the other birds. I think there is a robin, wren, jay and blackbirds in the garden, but thibk they make themselves scarce when they see the cat - she has an outstanding track record catching things unfortunatelyimage

I dont think i will be adding much to the flower count tomorrow either. Does GW record the results? Always interesting to see the regional variations.

happy new year from Berlin. very cold here this week but this morning awakened to rain(this certainly a damp part of the world). friends have committed to THE BERLIN EXPERIENCE-eight parties all over town ending at dawn. christmas in prague-midnight mass in st. vitus cathedral then dinner-roast goose with prunes and latkes,good-whole, stuffed, baked carp-hmmmm. leaving for hawaii in 3 days, have convinced myself that flying from prague to honolulu with a 2 hr. layover in new york will be bearable-26 hrs. in transit, oh lord. well happy new year and good luck with flower count. a month on kauai then home to garden-as always it will be the best year ever.
