  • Don't know anything about sockeye salmon, sorry, but do recall cooking a whole salmon I didn't have a big enough poaching tin for in the dishwasher - strange but true, was cooked to perfection. image

Punkdoc, hope you feel a bit better tomorrow, horrible feeling ill, especially when it knocks the stuffing out of you. image Keep thinking about your days in the sun to come. image

Liri, you are remarkably cheerful considering boiler and cat issues (obviously not related), well done for looking on the bright side and am really sorry about the cat, such a shame. image

Still waiting to hear if we are getting the rescue dog I enquired about, someone else had asked too and they lived nearer to the centre than us, think they wanted to keep a close eye on her. They are such a dedicated team, care so much about every animal. I am sure another one will come up soon. image

Funny you should mention rescue dogs Damsel; we've just filled in the adoption form to adopt a German Shepherd. Hopefully they'll get in contact soon to arrange a home check and will consider us suitable!

  • Very pretty Chicky, bet you had a great time.

  • DD - I have moments feeling decidedly less than cheerful, but life goes on.  Tomorrow we'll be burying our beloved Gracie in the garden, and doubtless tears will be shed.  These animals get under your defences!  They repay kindness, patience and tender care so wonderfully.  We suspected we wouldn't have them long because they had an appalling start to life, but that doesn't make it any easier when the end comes.

Sleep calls...  Remaining cat has been allowed into bedroom (fatal move - can never get her out again!) because she was unhappy, so we'll be cosy tonight.  image

    Night night all...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
