Hmmm. Afraid I can't add anything useful to the exploding fish discussion... though I know without a doubt why Santa is not so fat as the pictures indicate: my chimney isn't very wide...
Anyway, hello again folks. Back from a happy (tiring!) time on grandma duties to find the boiler has given up the unequal struggle, and that one of my lovely rescued moggies has had to be put down.
But life goes on. The boiler man came today and lashed the old boiler together, but I think we may have to bite the bullet and replace it pretty soon. But for the moment OH and I, and remaining cat, are warm. Hot water's a bit hit-or-miss, but it makes life more exciting, I suppose!
Right. Let's see if there's enough hot water to do the washing up.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Sorry to hear about your cat Liri. Your other one will probably miss it. Glad the boiler is repaired for now though.
My last couple of attempts at cooking salmon in the microwave resulted in explosions too but has never happened before. Will try the lower temperature next time.
Clari - you're very naughty.
Gg your seeds arrived today - thank you very much for the extras
I took a chainsaw to my pampas grass a good few years ago Gardengirl but the stump is still there and refuses to rot away. Nasty stuff in the wrong place!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Bob it is a big pampas grass thinking next year to lower it a bit as quite tall and needs thinning out - does make good mulch when shredded which is in the woodland area, it did like to get stuck to the back of my gloves while trying to put in the garden waste bag today before it went into the bin
Not sure why it does it, but cooking at aa lower power is the answer.
I'm slightly puzzled as I usually cook ordinary salmon this way at least once a week without any problem...the only change this time was the fact it was Sockeye salmon. The only difference as far as I could tell is that the texture was finer.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Evening all, another day feeling sorry for myself.
Watched trashy film: X - Men, days of future past, great fun.
Also started reading Iain Banks last novel, before he sadly died.
Have a good evening all.
