Good morning all Chilly here this morning but the temp in the back garden only dropped to 2C so I think it's the cold wind that's making it feel so nippy. They've promised us that it's going to get colder this evening - winter drawers on!
Cards will be posted today and the plan is that some spiced pickled pears will be made - however plans may change ....
By the way, I've heard from Daniel - he will remind the Tech Team that Christmas Smileys have been requested - however they are currently buried under a mountain of IT work so he can't promise that they'll flick the switch or do whatever it is to make them appear immediately - but here's hoping

Morning all. 1.3'C when I put the kettle on this morning; ridiculously windy outside last night so I have a feeling this morning (day off) may involve sweeping up the rest of the leafs.
Brought the Christmas tree yesterday at a local farm; trouble is by local we mean local to his parents so it had a 90 mile journey home in the truck! We didn't get the decorations out last year as we had only just moved in so this'll be our first time getting them out: hope they survived the move!
It's a bit dark yet but I think there's a dusting of snow on the grass. Note I say grass, not lawn.
The trees sound lovely chicky. Very special Christmas presents
I can be a bit fussy about the tree too MrsG. It takes ages to get the lights right so everyone just leaves me to it and then come and hang the decorations when I've finished fiddling with them. Then I rearrange the decorations when no-one's looking
Fluid plans are the best type Dove because if something better turns up you can go for it
Think we're hiring the carpet cleaner today so I'm going to be busy with that and leave the nicer jobs for later in the week.
Wet overnight and no idea yet about the temperature.
Chicky can you send some of your excitement this way bit lacking in Christmas spirit here, maybe if I get my finger out and write the cards it might happen.
I have been invited to participate in a Murder mystery evening at a friend's home, anyone got a dinner jacket they don't want? I'm cast as a retired slightly bonkers elderly family doctor, the setting is a posh evening before Christmas cocktail party. I wanted to be a girlie
KEF I'm just about to make a fresh pot! Sneaking the heating back on; using the excuse that I have washing to dry on the radiators.
To do list is looking rather long for a day off. I've also got to batch make a load of chilli and other meals to freeze ready for lazy days when cooking is too much effort. Not sure what other meals will be though!
KEF - shock horror! Who says that a 'slightly bonkers elderly family doctor' has to be a chap???
I certainly remember being 'attended to' by an elderly female doctor who was certainly 'on the bonkers spectrum' - you need a double long bead necklace and hornrim glasses on a chain and a tweed skirt and jacket with a vyella blouse like Miss Marple wears (the proper Joan Hickson Miss Marple that is). And some brown granny shoes with a sturdy heel.
Perhaps the dinner jacket might be easier?

Hi Dove, the instructions for the Murder state that the doctor is a chap I am considering being a flamboyant chap with a pretty cravat and a nice kiss curl on my forehead. I do have a long black velvet jacket that will have to be a dinner jacket. I am considering a wig
