Sounds like we just swapped weather Dove, started off here with gusty wind and cloudy with the odd shower, now warm sun. Ground is too wet to get out though today, other than digging up some parsnips for dinner. image

Hi all, looks like some lovely times have been had. image

Nothing exciting to report from here. It has become colder as the day has progressed, we have had sun, rain, sleet and a strong cold wind that is blowing from the south, what's that about image

Cards not started not in the mood.

One antisocial blackbird has ignored his friends and hasn't joined the bird food and chopped apple party instead has happily eaten most of the berries from my sarococca. I was standing only 4' away and did inform him they were for harsh times but did he listen image

I have declared it Winter and am now wearing my thermal socks image

Roast beef today with all the trimmings shame I haven't done any exercise to deserve it image The way I'm going if anyone needs a plump bird for Christmas I might be available by the 24th image

    Hi everyone,

DD sorry about your sister.  I  haven't had any sort of relationship with my brother for the past 30 years, we do speak now mainly about mum, but It's like speaking to a stranger.

I have holiday envy Archie, it looks so warm and sunny on the pictures, mind you looking out of our window today it was like a summers day, until you opened the door and let all that cold air in.

Did some H*******k today, lots of glittery mess after finishing the decorations yesterday.  I've also started to feed the birds again after the visit from Roddy the rat so I'll see how it goes.

Hope the rat doesn't return Yvie - it would be a shame if you struggled to feed the birds because of it.

KEF - re plump birds - if I keep on going out for tea and cake I'll be covering myself in bacon and jumping in the roasting tin on the 25th image

Lots of black clouds full of snow and suchlike here. It was only 2 degrees when I came in at half four, so I dare say we may get some snow overnight. Hope it's only showers. Never mind socks - thermal pants  I think... image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Evening image

  • Evening all, such kind words from you all re sister, done all I can so am leaving it alone with head held high, dignity intact and a clear conscience. Still very sad and unnecessary but that is life I suppose.

Anyway, cards written (mostly), tree up and feeling festive.

Hope the weather bucks up for you all, not too bad here but forecast is getting colder, might get a frost this week. image

BL Xmas fair looked super, an hour and a a bit for us so just a bit too far, but definitely going on a visit there in new year.image

OH actually cut the grass today, it was warm and dry and has still been growing, hopefully that will be it now. Did reward him with pot roast pork, unfortunately someone ate the mince pies I had planned for pudding - now who could that have been? image

Glass of wine and some choccies from raffle prize to for us both whilst watching the results show of SCD will have to do. image

    Good evening all. x

P.S. just in case of any misunderstanding it wasn't my efforts alone that raised the €1100, my cookies were good, but not that good! Whole village effort. image

  • Hello all

Woody - not good about the house saw it in the paper what a bad fire and watched the video horrible

Went to inexcess in Ringwood yesterday got a few goodies Alan Titchmarsh book for cheap, some violas for front garden and lots more bits, watch a wreath demonstration and she asked if I wanted to make one so then I tried to make one there with help ended up looking ok -bits of holly and fir tree and fir cones  - I brought it

Today been doing a small bit of pallet bashing and covering pots with chicken wire and empty hanging baskets frames even with plants

The plant pot that I planted with lots of bright colours has got attacked by rats may have lots some tulips small - now plants all squashed with chicken wire want to keep my bulbs

I lost all the other tulip bulbs in my pot with the fern as the rats came back to dig up and eat the other half of bulbs that were still there when I covered the dirt back up last week

I seem not to be allowed to grow tulips this year (not fair)  I so like the flowers on tulips and was looking forward to seeing them appear
