Won't mention it as such Matty, but....glad you're doing ok
Are you sure it's the dog that's eating the leftovers Verd?
Had to come in as it's raining a bit now but finally got the last bit of 'stuff' dug, including sawing some large tree roots out ( why is the last bit always the worst? ) so I'll go and start shovelling gravel in a moment or three. Keeps me off the streets I suppose...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just back from my mums after having to replace a TV aerial cable which was routed behind fitted wardrobes.. Mum now happy and can watch TV in bed again.
There was just enough light left to lift a really thuggish agapanthus and a mass of montbretia which had intermingled with it - a solid 3ftx3ftx1ft of tangled roots now chopped to bits and stuck in pile to hopefully get frosted and rot - and good riddance to both!
It took the last of my own compost to fill the hole plus two 70l bags of MPC but I planted 30 rather lovely red tulips at the bottom of the hole first and a layer of winter crocus before placing the final layer of compost on, so looking forward to those.
Same again needed tomorrow - I'll be slightly sad to see another agapanthus go but glad when those bloody montbretia are just a dim memory - they are nasty hoodlums in my garden. The agapanthus are ones I grew from seeds from a Headborne hybrid in the front garden so no great loss. I think I'll get some of the more delicate types... and keep them in pots!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Been for a walk on Beachy Head with OH, sister, 2 brothers and their 3 Border Collies.
Going to Madame Butterfly tonight in Brighton.
Yesterday we went to see OH's auntie in her nursing home, bearing cardigans for Christmas presents as the home seemed to have lost hers. But 2 were back in her chest of drawers, didn't smell laundered so don't know what happened to them.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hope you enjoy 'the Madame' BL. Do you sing along to 'one fine day'...or is that just me....
Bob - know the feeling when you get something dug out and replaced with a more suitable specimen. You'll enjoy that burst of colour when it appears
Progress made with my paths but the rain and light beat me. Will start to get the proper stuff down tomorrow now that all the prep is done. Can I borrow your sofa again chicky? Think I may be dozing later
Get the adblocker lily. No more ****
Glad I never had to experience what you're going through with your mum Verd. Big old hug from me.

Verdun the dementia from a stroke is not as bad as some other forms - it's what my Mum had - and as she recovered from the stroke so things became easier - then she would have another TIA and back we would go again. I was grateful though, still am, that there were times when we could converse, she understood on the whole and always recognised her close family.
Been mild out today was spitting a few times, went bulb planting got most of the tulips done only 3 left for a pot - had to cut and clear a few bits first one hebe needed cutting back and I ended up making them into cuttings in little plant pots
Got some alliums planted too, put wallflower on top of the areas where the bulbs were planted, I also planted out lots of wallflower in a border in the front garden and mulched with soil enricher
So that is most of the bulbs planted still a lot of bulbs to plant at the station yet
Feels a bit like spring lots of bulbs starting to pop up even spotted a tulip tip
Was thinking you would be over here now Busy-Lizzie are you staying in Brighton
