Think it's a real medical condition Rb and Fairy. My brain is floppy but my fingers are sticking out like sore fingersimage

There is really no excuse for getting the ironing out - what are you thinking?image

Just spoken to  my Mum on the phone and she 'loses' words but gives clues. When telling me what they were having for lunch she said chicken, potatoes and ....whatsit, you know, green cauliflower.  I did get broccoliimage

Hope recovery is taking place now MrsGimage

Off to watch the Cenotaph now.

Has everyone gone out for the day? We've got back from Remembrance Service and lunch out.

Have I time to dig 3 huge cannas from a pot before dark? Will they be OK in a box wrapped in fleece in a garage, even if it's below freezing outside? Really must look them up, never overwintered one before.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I think they'd be fine BL. They don't need light just frost protection. If you get some of your really sub zero temps there for a long time you could probably add more fleece.  Mine's still outside and it can take it's chances just now. It's in a corner next to the house wall image

All my green manure sown and managed to dig out the big white buddleia so I've piled some soil up round it till I find a place for it to go - probably the front garden down near the gate. Been digging out more sticky clay where the paths are going and watching the robin hop about round me. He's getting quite matey image

Sore shoulder now from digging but it means I'll be further on by spring so I'll keep plugging away a bit at a time. Been  a good day here weatherwise.

    Cup  of tea now image

I've been floppy too, runny. Must be catching.

Watched remembrance service on tv, managed to get son to watch for 1 minute. Then he showed me a new cbeebies programme he had missed called 'poppies'! Hope you get the can as sorted bizzie

Hope all have had a good day.

I might have to follow my own advice there Verd -  mine's too big now to bring into the house. Last year I stuck it behind a little chest of drawers and forgot all about it but it's three times the size now. Shed's a bit damp in places but if I wrap it in fleece and put it in the best spot it should be ok. Alternatively, I could put one of the children in the shed and the canna could go in a  bedroom...image
