OL my kitchen has been a potting shed for weeks nowimage.

Plans have changed and I'm not travelling down tomorrow.  Mum has been told to 'phone the hospital on Monday morning before her 9.15 appointment to make sure there is a bed available.  This is just to remove a stent with an overnight stay. If she does go in I'll travel on the same day but if not I'll leave it a few days.

    Afternoon...image

Forgot my usual morning greeting because its my holiday weekend and I stayed in bed and watched GW and some other garden programmes that OH kindly finds me on one of a hundred other channels and records with Tevo??...if that's what its called.

I can remember the days when there were only three channels in the world and BBC used the test card when it wasn't showing anything and channel Four was brand new and didn't start until the afternoon, that's how young I am image

Dove, don't forget its give and take, not just give image

I did get out in the garden for a few hours, very happy with my work arranging some herbaceous stuff and mulching mostly, Yvie your rearranging helps me feel much better with mine image and I think my To-Do list is finally getting shorter image

Relaxing this afternoon, maybe have visitors, otherwise a nice long soak with bubbles and books involved. Maybe a movie later and something to nibble on image

I remember when there was only one channel!  When we moved to a farm in Suffolk from Bedfordshire we took our tv with us - the only problem was that there was no electricity in the village we moved to - villagers would come and gaze at the tv with no idea what it did - by the time electricity came to our village there was an ITV channel as well as BBC - but our tv wasn't equipped to get ITV so all the other children at school watched ITV programmes and we could only watch BBC image

My Goddaughter (9) finds it hard to believe that we couldn't freeze live TV and rewind it when we were little image Goodness knows what she would think to the thought of 3 or 4 channels!! image image

Rb, that's so funny, bless herimage.

Do you remember the potter's wheel and was there an intermission with fish swimming?  Our old telly was used to a good thump now and again (didn't make any difference) and sometimes someone had to hold the aerial at different angles or distances and stand perfectly still when a picture appearedimage.

Still don't like digital because the picture breaks up as soon as there's bad weather.  Pretty oftenimage
