Don't know why I said ironing was a lazy day thing as I hate ironing. Watching the film will be my reward for doing it though. Got as far as putting the ironing board up ...............
Still raining hard and now darker than when I got up and having to put the lights on to see where I'm going.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed by tulips. Still have 220 left to plant, beds need tidying to make room and rain is forecast. Poured yesterday. We are going to England next week, leaving Friday to stay with daughter in north of France on the way.
Also have 3 climbing roses from David Austin to plant, must clear spaces.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Just a quick peek in-between playing ‘taxi’ to Charlie, horse-riding this morning, athletics competition this afternoon, both in completely opposite directions.
Got in to find a message from Mick the Open Garden Inspector, “will be popping over Monday” - eek, hope he doesn’t expect to see any flowers, even the dahlias have given up this week.
Lot of tulips BL, going to be worth the pain in springtime, I am going to that little ‘secret’ nursery tomorrow morning; he is selling off all his bulbs at a discounted price. I know I don’t need any, but thought worth just a little look.
OH is in UK next week, he flies in on Friday BL, you can exchange a wave on the tarmac.
Also had an e-mail from a friend thinking of coming over for Xmas if flights are reasonable, hope they can make it, love a houseful at Xmas and then I can do lots of Xmas baking, Christmas pudding cooking sounds glorious.
Have a good week-end all.

Hi Punkdoc - that's why people play rugby in the winter - so we can watch it on the telly when it's too wet to garden. The same goes for National Hunt racing
I've actually got a line of washing flapping on the line - it looks as if it's getting dry!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Braved the wind and the rain to get my tulips planted (weekend gardeners can't afford to be fair weather gardeners) - and then came back in to a house that smells of Christmas. Both the cake and the pudding are doing their thing
Well done chicky I got my tulips planted this morning when the weather was cold but dry and lifted the dahlias.. I hope the weather clears up for your fireworks tonight. Wish I could smell your house.
Lizzie I don't envy you having 220 to plant. I only did 50 and my hip, hip are definitely not saying hurray.
Went to GC this afternoon and didn't buy a single plant Bought bird seed and new nyjer feeder plus Christmas napkins. Just made cottage pie for tea so nothing much to do for a while now.
Chicky bet your home smells wonderful, mine smells of curry
MrsGarden hope your doesn't smell of paint
Been a total wash out today so I've been making curries for tonight & the freezer. Memo to self, when making Cauli, chickpea & spinach one, don't ask OH for views on taste it needed more chilli Has anyone got any yoghurt they could drop off? I've tasted after it cooled and my eyeballs have melted, never a good look. Me thinks chicken one for KEF and veg one for the taster
Archie if you are looking in do you want some killer curry
Good to read that some peeps got into their gardens, tomorrow should be dry here so if I don't expire after the curry I'll hopefully get something done.

Hi all. It has been raining solidly for 2 days now, I think I had better build an ark.
Mooching around, can't decide what I want to do. At least there is plenty of rugby to watch.
Have fun.
