Evening all, cold but sunny here today, and colder still according to forecast. Had a lovely walk on the moors today, thought some sunlight would be good for blues.
Just making a ratatouille to go with some lamb chops.
Have a good evening.
Sunlight's very good for blues; fresh air, exercise and sunlight even better; following that with tasty and tender lamb chops with ratatouille is a guaranteed cure
Enjoy your evening Pdoc

Was such a lot of rain that came down really bad at 12pm last night woke me up and then massive thunder and lightening horrible
Runnybeak1 plantains help too for nettle stings or if not sting cream
Yesterday thought I would re plant up a pot - managed to get my plant pot emptied from front door then spent a while putting the plants and bulbs in front garden and back some under pallet bench, then spent a while planting front garden border with wallflower from nursery bed I have grown from seed and wallflower from veg bed that I got gw offer then mulched the border with soil improver
Got the pot planted bulbs and cyclamen and 3 other pots for front with coloured heathers to go with the pot colour
Today was so wet in bits showers most the day, ground so soggy finally finished the turfing off
I always use antihistamine straight away and if that doesn't work, hydrocortisone.
Waiting for chicken and veg pie to cook.
Did a bit of gardening late this afternoon then there was a thunderstorm. My border collie follows me, like Monty's Nigel, he is terrified of thunder. The chap who cuts the logs for the woodburner has cut my hornbeam hedge hurray! I usually do it, at least 90 metres of double hedge, hate it, but I have tendonitis in my shoulder.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Went up to see my auntie in hospital today to find she wasn't there! she was kept in the hospital she was sent to for tests last Friday as the driver banged her back badly with the door and she has suspected fracture of her spine. unbelievable?
so not a lot achieved today Drive home horrific in rain and wind so just snuggled up to stove reading today's posts!

Lily pilly - that sounds awful!!! That's what happens when they use taxis rather than hospital transport!!! I hope you hear better news soon.
Runnybeak - as children if we couldn't find dock leaves or if our nettle stings still tingled when we were in the house, we'd use vinegar to take the sting out.

Hello folks, Back in Worcester on Nanna Duty for a couple of days so no gardening for me. Because the days are sunny I've had to leave the greenhouse door open while I am away even though the nights are cold. I'll be back home tomorrow night so I'm hoping plants are going to be OK till then.
LP sorry to hear about your Aunt I hope that it doesn't prove too serious.
Too scared to look at your lamp Dove. John Lewis website is fatal for me

Glad I didn't go to London yesterday to see the poppies!
Oh Runny, I sympathise! Our nettles could be classed as WMDs!
over the years I have tried everything but found nothing as effective as a dock leaf.
nature is clever and there is usually one somewhere besides your nettle Good luck

Oh - and re dock leaves - they work best if you scrumple them up and rub them on the stings to get the juice from the leaves onto them.
