Hello all. We've been out most of the day. This morning went to the cemetery to tidy the plants and put a chrysanthemum (French tradition for All Saints) on 1st husband's grave.

Then we went to another lunch party to say goodbye to my friend who's moving back to England. She leaves tomorrow.

Then we went to the cinema to see the opera "Carmen" live from the New York Met. It was super.

Evening folks, hope everyone is OK.  Had a phone call today from Grandaughter to ask if she could come for a sleep over I said yes and she bought her sister, mum and dad with her!

Have had a good night and we watched Disneys Maleficient while Firstborn and SIL went out for a meal.

Planted some more Alliums and Tulips today, also dug up a conifer that I didnt really like.  I've revised my estimation on how long it will take to spike the lawn, I think it's more likely to be 4 weeks rather than 4 days based on the amount I can do before my back rebels.  Hopefully I can do a bit more tomorrow and also empty a few more pots.

Good morning dove, have you got the coffee on.?

I think I'm still on singapore time. In bed by 8 and awake at 5

  • Good morning Fidget - second mug of coffee needed here - kettle's on.  image

Those seem to be my normal hours here in the UK image

There's a very grey sky out there and occasional squally showers of rain on the window.  Two cats have just had a very noisy tussle around our bins.  The lid of the food waste bin is broken (I've notified the council and am waiting for a replacement) so I hope the cats haven't littered the garden with the crab shells that I put in there yesterday image

Good morning Fidget & Dove image

We have rain here, quite pleased as veg bed was looking dry.

Hope you don't have crab shells around your garden it would be as pleasant as when I sprinkled chicken pellets and didn't fork them in image

Fidget when do you sow your delphiniun seeds ?

Tea must be good this morning if I have a garden question at 7.50am image

I sow delphiniums in the greenhouse in March.

I'm already saving all the eggshells to put around them. I bake the eggshells in the oven, then crush them. I want a bedful, like at Barnsdale. I think the slugs will probably get the upper hand though.
