Morning Verdun - if the sun's gone in it might be a good idea to put your shirt back on image

Morning all. I got back from my daughter's last night. Saw Lyn's sad news.

Watched Poldark, didn't notice who the judge was. Recorded it anyway as OH was asleep on the sofa.

Could do with a skip here. I'm a hoarder to, but it's 20 mins drive to the tip and you have to sign in so rarely get round to taking stuff there.

Had a nice time with daughter, 3 grandsons. It was her birthday on Saturday. We went out to lunch in a village restaurant owned by English people. Good for the boys as there were sofas in front of the fireplace and they gave the boys some games and toys. We were the only people. The menu had andouillette (offal sausage image) for the French and chicken and asparagus pie which was very nice.

We went for a walk later in the afternoon when the rain stopped, but smallest fell off his bike and was covered in mud - bath on arrival home!

Thanks for that info BL. I didn't see Lyn's news yesterday.

Such warm wishes on the other thread, I do hope she can take some comfort from them. She more than deserves it.

On a lighter note. OH has promised me all his efforts to-day, so the HUGE pile of stuff I've been cutting back will go through the shredder and down to the compost bins.

He doesn't know what he's let himself in for.

    Morning gang

Tired this morning so stayed in bed image

It's chilly here but I can see so many things waking up now in the garden. Might venture out later, have square terracotta pots to plant up and clematis to get in the ground.

This week's to-do list includes building a second planter for my homeless hostas, shifting the remaining earth into it,  landscaping bottom area ready for new compost bins, and waiting for deliveries to arrive Tuesday and Wednesday.

Have middle son coming on Thursday to help build the pergola image

Oh, nearly forgot that post holes still need to be dug but first...need to shop for perennials image

Morning all. Monday and once again my day off. Hurrah! It's just clouded over but I really hope it wont rain: I'm on my fourth load of washing already and desperately fed up of having to dry things in the house.

Plans for the vegetable garden are changing again: it must now include a washing line as the vegetable garden will be dog proof and someone pays too much attention to my bed sheets image

Should have been paid on Friday but wasn't (not really surprised) so plans to pootle around a garden centre for some herb seeds to start off my planter (aka above dog pee range) are on hold. Still if I drove to the garden centre and used my fuel money on plants (they are after all to eat and thus essentials to my very existence) i couldn't go to work By the fault of work itself so they can't blame me. Hmm.... not a bad idea!image
