Happy I've got some bags of FYM how sad is that ? Also got some winter violas to put in border at mums
Just been to vote for our new police chief, thingy whatsit person for S.Yorks no info' at all provided about the candidates But if women threw themselves in front of horses and chained themselves to railings for the right to vote KEF steps up each time
We've been out most of the day, chez friends. So no gardening done.
DD I would be a bit wary about hebes, never managed to keep them, they don't like Dordogne winters. Tried all sorts. Had 2 new ones last year, presents, but both died in the winter though it was milder than usual - but it was wetter than usual.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Lizzie I'm surprised that hebes don't survive saying that I don't know jasper Mum has a lot of hebes and it can get very wet and cold in S.Yorks. One she has is huge , sorry don't know the name and M can't remember but it has lovely lilac and white flowers and continued to flower in some parts through the winer ( was mildish) and has done so all summer. I'll look and see if I have a picture but don't think I have
The one that lived the longest was "Midsummer Beauty". It was gorgeous and survived 4 years. A little white one "pinguifolia" came 2nd - 2 years. I was given a variegated one and one with deep purple flowers that died last winter and there have been a couple that survived one winter. Don't know Jasper.

Very pretty KEF Hope you can find out the name as I'd like one (whether it's a hebe or not).
Feeling a bit down today as I've had to change my plans to go to Mum and Dad's next week. Son's leg is badly infected and he's got to visit the nurse every few days to change his dressing. He's being a good patient though and not moaning all the time.
Poor little Hebes, they are so lovely too. Jasper is only a small one, little white flowers and lovely autumn colour (jasper) slow growing up to 8" tall and would suit my driveway well. It just says it need well drained soil and is hardy to UK conditions. Might have to but one and test it before I rush out and get a job lot, don't need then until next year anyway.
Worn out now, off to bed.

Quite right KEF, I don't want to drag myself out, but I will. Must keep the fascists out.

Mum thinks it was little Ellen but I've googled and
Photo taken 2.1.14
I'll have a walk around the garden with mum at some point and the correct name might appear
Thought did occur
if this isn't a hebe I'll be so
and blame mum !
