Overcast here, so won't "see" the eclipse, but guess we will notice it go dark. I remember the last one - very strange feeling. All the birds stopped singing and Chicklet (who was 2) went inside to fetch her teddy and a bedtime book. I can see why folks of old found them scary.
wonderful before and after pics yesterday - what a difference you have both made
Have a lovely day everyone. Got told off yesterday for "telling" a volunteer who was on front desk duty to leave his sandwich to quickly check the door as the bell had gone while I was trying to take five minutes to have a very quick lunch in between classes (I'd already answered the phone twice and served a customer stood waiting while five of our staff / volunteers sat three yards away eating). I had a choice between eat drink OR pee in that five minutes (and run back upstairs).
Awake to an email from the boss complaining the toilets are filthy and it is now also my duty to clean the toilets after a school visit (even though when I checked the upstairs ones I couldn't clean them as TWO volunteers were in there and rather expected them to mop out when they'd finished) as well as generally cleaning the entire museum. So while I scrubbed down my classroom and set everything up for the next group, knowing I'd be working til 20:30 at home catching up with all of the paperwork I have to do for classes and general museum administration... the boss sits in his warm office, one volunteer empties the bins, two stand in a filthy toilet but don't raise a hand to help and everyone else leave because as soon as that museum door closes they know if they stay they'll have to do stuff.
At what point am I allowed to point out that they are beyond taking the piddle? I shall try to have a word with him to day but I know that because I'm paid (barely) he thinks he can push everything on me and let volunteers do what they want.
Oh well. Decided I'm going into work late so I can find a good vantage point to feel (couldn't find any glasses) the eclipse (after all its not all bad if he sacks me) its wonderfully sunny here so here's hoping the Sheffield smog doesnt appear over the horizon.
bit grey and overcast again today but they say getting brighter later so no solar eclipse for us, so will watch it on TV as they are going to be in a plane above the cloud line that if they can catch it.
Did post results of GC visit yesterday your have to read back if you want to know did I resist
Have a good day all.
If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.

Have a good day all.
Morning all.
Supermarket done, could be expensive, as I passed a police camera van, and I am fairly sure I was speeding.
Very cloudy now, so not sure I will see the eclipse.
Hopefully some time in the garden, and I am expecting an order from Crocus, so should be a nice day.
Have a good day everyone

GB, you're not late. I'm amazed at how early people get on here. French time is an hour later.
