All the best for tomorrow Stacey

I am in the middle of near communication black-out and it is a strange feeling.

I have a new phone that cannot be used till company has changed no. Cannot change no as company's computers are down and have been all day. Old phone is a top up and is running out of money. OH's phone has decided not to work and land line phone will only take recorded messages, we cannot use it as a 'phone' All happened to day. AARRGGHH!!

Ah, no quote, just wanted to say how dreadful dove n Verdun about the missed silence. I was on a conference and they put bbc1 on screen so we didn't miss it. Conference was way over my head!

Home and settled now, got there in plenty of time this morning despite traffic problems.

Hope alls well with you all.

Sounds exciting Gg, have you posted any recent pics of the station? Oh and how did the painting go?

  • Mrs Garden - no recent pics and well as the painting go's only the samples done paint still in the tin its been very wet so no go so far with the painting even though I would like to do it would have to have a few dry days to get the sleepers to dry out, might end up waiting a while for that to be done - but still lots of bulbs and plants to go in yet

Hello all. I'm in England now, but OH has a horrid cold, he's in bed having a snooze. We were in the Arnedale shopping centre in Eastbourne at 11am. There was a row of old soldiers with flags and the Mayor and his wife were there and a soldier played the Last Post. We had the 2 mins silence and I found it very moving. I thought of those who lost their loved ones in the war, like my grandmother who lost a fiancé and a brother. But years later she met my grandfather.

But I was surprised by shoppers who pushed past the silent crowd as though nothing was happening.
