  • Good morning, BL, think the only thing you haven't done in your garden is vacuum, it is going to be so perfect you will set the standard too high for the rest of us! I am sure he he is going to be very impressed, it is the most idyllic spot.

SGL good luck with the move, it should be easy after all the prep you have done. We were packing for six months before we came here, this house is far larger than the one in England so had to buy loads, was definitely like Christmas when we finally arrived and unpacked  - did take a good few days though to get through the boxes. Hope not to move again - ever, especially after the work gone into the garden which you just can't take.

Panda, hope no plant seeds or bulbs in those unpacked boxes - or a wad of cash!

Now going to be very focused today and finish the job I started out to do yesterday, hide (plant) the rest of the daffs I bought and edge my soon to be beautiful rosebed.

Have a good day all. image

Good morning all image  Overcast here at the moment, but 15C and rising and the sun's peeking out.

However, there's a pneumatic drill being used very close by so not really a morning to be outside.  A bit later on I'm off to son's for an overnight stay - back tomorrow eveining - so don't panic if I'm AWOL - although I might be able to borrow his iPad occasionally image

Morning all, a bit early for me but I'm aching today so took a couple of pain killers and just waiting for them to kick in before I start the day.  Suns just coming out so hoping for a nice one, havent seen the forecast.

Overdid it a bit yesterday so I'm just going to do a bit of hoeing and plant a few pansies.  Did anyone catch my post on the plant thread re Choccamocha.  I really havent a clue what to do with them so if anyone else bought them I'd appreciate some advice.

Could do with a cuppa now, but not sure if I can face the stairs just yet.  Ill have a look round the forum and then decide.

Hope all salt miners have a good day.  Good luck with your gardening man visit BL. I'm sure it will be fine.

One of the reasons I dont ever want to move again is because I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to unpacking.  I just dont go to bed until every box is unpacked and everything is in place.  My friends and family think I'm crackers but I cant help it.

Like you Yvie, I hate having boxes of stuff still unpacked - however when we moved here it was impossible to unpack everything as some of it was inherited stuff that just wasn't right for this house.  Bit by bit it's gone to son or daughter, and some of it is going to an auction house today - some really quite good Victorian ceramics - but this isn't the right place for them and as neither of the children want them I'm selling the and will use the money to buy something that we like so that we can enjoy it and then it will get handed on to the children eventually - new heirlooms!    We're now able to walk from the front to the back of the garage without climbing over stuff image

We still have crates of the Aged Ps' stuff, but as it's still theirs we'll have to keep it until whenever ..................   although I might have identified a home for Pa's extensive library about the RAF.

Oh Dove, my house is victorian and I'm forever on ebay buying bits and pieces for it.  When we moved from my last house (which was modern) I gave away loads of my furniture to firstborn (she did well as a lot of it was expensive).  I replaced it all with second hand bargain buys.  I also bought some furniture from the people who were leaving.  I'm so much more at home here, I never really fitted into the last house. Don't have a garage here but the cellar is a sight to behold.  I just don't go down there.  It sounds like we should have done a furniture swap.

Morning all - lovely looking day again here.

Good luck BL - after all your hard work I hope you get the right result image

lily - plenty of porridge for breakfast! Hope your sis is grateful for all the help you've given her. I like boxes unpacked and sorted right away too otherwise it becomes a huge chore which keeps getting put off.

Like Yvie - my body's aching but I want to get on wile it's dry today - lots of  rain forecast tomorrow.

Off for a quick look round here. Hope all the workers have a good day at t'mill  image

Morning all. Thank you for the encouragement, but there are still weeds, edges need doing and plants look tatty when they are over. I'm not a cutterer down to the ground person, I tend to leave a lot of it messy over winter for wildlife. Once I was doing the big spring clear up and disturbed 4 baby hares in the long border! And another time there was a hibernating hedgehog in the knifofia where the dead leaves had flopped down.
