Its a mild and still autumnal morning here, with a heavy dew and cobwebs. It's been overcast, but I think I can spy a blue tinge between some clouds so hopefully better things are to come
Ive got my splint back on for the morning, while I do some h*wk. Hopefully I can do some gardening when OH is home tomorrow - I have bulbs to plant.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. Beautiful day here but chilly - only 8 degrees at the moment. Just taken daughter to work as she was asked to go in at 8 instead of 1. Her kind mum offered as she wasn't in till almost 10 last night.
Lovely day yesterday but I had a lot to do so wasn't on here much. I was also watching the golf... Got some more digging out done for the new grass but had to get a large piece of kerbstone out. Why are obstacles always a quarter of an inch to the wrong side of where you need them to be? Took some sweet peas to the cemetery as it would have been my Dad's 96th birthday and went in to the GC on way. Very nice but no pond plants, so I'll be ordering them online over the weekend.
Hope trip goes ok Lesley. Look on the bright side lily - loads of lovely leaf mould
Be careful when you step out the door Dove....
Going to have a catch up on here now while I get breakfast.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning - just taking Chicklet for a driving lesson, then the weekend is all mine (said in a gollum voice). Need to plant some daffs, plant some new purchases, and create my sempiverum crate ..... If it works out I'll share pics
Great result at the station Ggirl - you deserve recognition for all the things you do down there, so its great that people are starting to talk about it - go girl
Enjoy Malvern and Picton woody - seen pictures of the latter at this time of year and it looks amazing. Can you keep an eye out for the names of ones that look like Monch but are greater than 6 ft tall? Bamboogle gave me a name of one - am on the look out for more back of border stunners. At the moment Lemon Queen is doing wonderfully for me (helianthus, not an aster) - but she needs some tall purple friends
Glad wrist is improving Dove. Hope Lesley has a good week.
Am enjoying my lie in, all toasty in the duvet Catching up with the forum. Learning some new things and doing some online shopping - sadly no plants, but some jewellery that I am pretending I might give as gifts
Not sure what is on the agenda gardenwise today. Have some plants that need potting/potting on and loads of windfall pears that need disposing of Also hoping for dry times as the lawn needs a good trim.
Morning everyone, to echo Chicky, this weekend is all mine. I dont have to go anywhere or be anywhere for 48 hours. I'm going to pop out to fetch some grit for bulb planting and then its a day in the garden, weather permitting. It looks a bit grey out there but no rain forecast so fingers crossed.
Glad your wrist is feeling better Dove but be careful we don't want any setbacks.
Have a good week Lesley.
Can't say I envy Busy's day.
Off for a quick look while drinking my cuppa then its of to GC yipee.
