  • Really enjoyed GW tonight, think I will have to do the bulb thing and perhaps add in a few grasses (might have discovered some today in overgrown bed will be posting pics tomorrow). Not quite getting the wildmeadow thing, hope my wild wood turns out a bit prettier!

Rain here today incredible, then all over and 27° and brilliant sunshine, poor dahlias took a beating though, bless. image

Morning,  I can hear the gasps now 'Yviestevie first up - and on a Saturday'. It's not from choice believe me.  Woke up to go to bathroom and now aches and pains wont let me go back to sleep, so having a cup of tea with a couple of pain killers and thought I would have a mooch round the site while I wait for them to kick in.

Some of you may have picked up on a thread about lawns and Green Thumb (other companies are available).  I know lots of people on here like the more natural look for lawns and dont treat their lawns so would never use a company like this.  When I moved in to this house the lawn was in a terrible state large bare patches and borderline whether I needed to rip it up and start again.  I have got it to a fairly reasonable state but I still have lots of moss and in certain areas its a bit of a mess.  I dont want a bowling green but would like the lawn not to let the rest of the garden down so I thought I would sign up for a year and see if they can improve it.  Well yesterday I had the first visit and it probably cost about the same as buying a box of lawn feed so Ill see how it goes and report back.

When I went to GC yesterday half of it was closed off as they were getting ready for Ch******s.  Its only September!  Surely nobody needs 3 months to get ready for the big day.  Dont get me wrong I love the festive season but I just wish it was a bit shorter.

I'm off to have a mooch round before, hopefully, going back to bed for a couple of hours.  Ooh just thought I could watch last night's GW.

Sounds like quite a thunderstorm you had Beaus.  At least you won't have to do much watering.  How does Beau cope with thunder?

Morning all. Beautiful cobwebs chicky  image

I'm hoping for some of those on my new screen but we've not really had the 'mists and mellow fruitfulness' yet.

Can you send me some rain BM? We were meant to get a little overnight , but no sign yet. I put some weed n feed down so I could do with it. Yvie - I'm like you, don't need a bowling green but I like the front grass to look like grass. Our local GC has had the halls decked for a while - they always do - and I find that quite depressing. Time seems to go by so quickly anyway - I don't need them telling me it's December three months before it is...imageimage
