    I went to bed at 9.30 last night, quick power nap, up at 10.30 back to bed at 3am. I made a load of little envelopes for seeds, sorted ones to post, planned the day, cutting the grass along the road verge and pruning the laurel hedge. Will post a pic when its tidy.

    Mums bad again, different problem, why oh why will she not tell me until its almost major surgery time.

    I just went in to see her, woke her up as shes been just sitting in the chair for night times, she gave me a black look and wouldnt talk to me.

    Poor dad, trying to over compensate chatted on and that got her a

    nnoyed, the joys of aged 'p's.!

    Dove did you ever figure out what the climbing plant that was going all over your garden is?  did you get any veg off it?

  • It's definitely a round squash of some sort - probably a Crown Prince possibly crossed with something else - loads and loads of flowers of both sexes, but no fruit has set.  Never mind, it's absolutely beautiful image

    My new splint has arrived, courtesy of my daughter - her stepmother works for an orthotics company, and armed with the appropriate measurements she's sent me a smart black splint image that is comfortable, much more supportive, and yet lets me use my fingers without flexing my wrist - wonderful image  And even better, it doesn't smell as if it's been worn for a week on a sweaty arm image

    The old one is in the wash as I type image

  • Off to choose grasses etc for stumps tomorrow, so thanks for all the advice and support. Going to Knoll nursery so will be spoilt for choice. The owner has 10 Chelsea golds for his grasses! image

    Just in from cutting front hedge, There is a huge mound of clippings hopefully OH will take them up the top ready for chipping up.
