I never prune honeysuckle, I like it to do what it likes image

What this honeysuckle has liked for the last 11 years, apparently, is making a Brillo pad 3m across with almost no leaves or flowers round the edges - or anywhere else for that matter.  So, come the winter it'll be getting a severe chop, and if it dies we'll be little worse off.
