B mum, see - you have something in common with babies - they also have a lot of dump runs...( and does your OH really need to know about yours?)

Morning All, See I bet Im last again,  got a delivery of plants this morning and I went out to see where to put them.  Next think I know Im moving Gertrude Jekyl to a much nicer spot (I know she likes a bit of shade but it was just too much) and Im planting some shade loving white geraniums and a lovely epimedium that also like dry soil and shade.  Ive also got three white foxgloves that should like the spot at the top of the garden and it will lift the shade there.  So contrary to popular belief I havent been in bed until now.  Just had a phone call from first born and it looks like Ill be moving house again for a few days to look after grandchildren as she and hubby have to go into work for the rest of the week (and I thought teachers had the holidays off).  She also kindly informed me that one year old might have measles (I havent had any childhood disease so Im hoping that my immune system holds out).

Glad to hear that your neck is feeling a bit better Bekkie.  Your ancestors sound a bit like mine.  Firstborn had a go at tracing them when she was on maternity leave but it was really difficult as most of them seem to live on narrowboats (water gypsies she calls them).  We also had a situation when some of her relatives lived in the same house as some of her husbands relatives.  She got a bit worried there and deceided to leave well alone.

Verdun, I have to say your jokes get worse (but they still make me smile).

Hope all the salt miners have a good day. I'm going to plant a few more plants as its getting a bit grey and Im not sure the weather will hold out.

I believe you Yvieimage Hope baby doesn't have measlesimage Can't say good morning now but was out of the house at 8.30. M&S in Crewe then Morrisons - petrol, bank, back here cousin called, lunch and now a few minutes to call my own.  I weeded the garden yesterday afternoon thank goodness as it has been tippling down today.

Verdun - everyone's laughing at your comment - is it only me that realises you were deadly serious?image

Hope all visiting, painting and working/not working is going well for everyone today. (my time on here is limited).

  • Have been out and tidied up my mess from gardening in the dark last night, not a bad effort all things considered. image

Regarding babies - mine was v.much a 'surprise' baby, had managed to get to age  of 43 without being burdened - oops meant blessed. image Actually, best thing that ever happened to us, you don't 'get it' until you have one. He did cry  - a lot, colic or something and I was hopeless, midwife suggested some private lessons image.

Now I am just about to set off to BL's. OH is slightly concerned about me going off alone to meet someone from a "'chat room" . I assured him that 'the forkers can vouch for her' -but strangely enough he wasn't reassured - sorry guys. image He suggested that you could all actually be BL, but I just said don't be silly they all know far too much about gardening to have time to be setting up traps!

Sure we will have a lovely afternoon, my only fear is getting lost, no sat nav - dead phone. But, if I am not back on here later - you know it wos BL wot dun it!

    Bye for now! image

DD I'm jealousimage  Lizzie's garden looks superb (ok - she's very busy and some weeds may growimage)  Have a lovely time and don't get lost on the way home otherwise we'll all be wanted by the police (sorry gendarmes)

Have a good day DD and BL.  I think its really funny to think of this as a chat room, dont know why but it really made me giggle.  I have visions of BL waiting in hiding for you.  Have just finished in the garden weeding, planting and watering.  Yes I know but when you move roses the rain just isnt enough at first.

Im in a bit of a quandary about the foxgloves Ive bought.  I'm worried that the site might be a bit dry for them.  Its right by a fir tree.  Fuschia, helebore and a vine are doing ok nearby so do you think Im safe to plant them there, if not any suggestions, I need some height and its very shady so white would be good.

I have self seeded foxgloves that pop up in lots of different situations in the garden - wet, dry, sun etc.  They all seem to survive but have different flowering times.  If you can introduce some organic matter that will hold onto any water you will give them a head start.

Lesley......jealous?? So coffee (and maybe cake?) and no flowers or plants in sight with an Orchid lover isn't good enough image

I have to admit to being a tad envious too.....I would live to see BL's garden 'in the flesh', it looks so beautiful.  Have a lovely time DD image I'm sure you'll be safe too, I don't think even the craziest stalker would be able to do all that BL does in one dayimage
