Sounds like dehydration Fidget, i think a night of imposed rest in a cool place might be the right thing, if it dosent make it, then thats no difference to what would have happened, but at least its had a chance image

Hi everyone, What a scorcher!  I cant remember everything that went but here goes

Glad you had a good holiday Panda, Lesley good job you didnt follow OL who is now better I believe, so have a good holiday.  I know there something about a hedgehog so I hope he/she is OK. Busy, you must be exhausted, hope everyone is mucking in and not leaving it all to you.  Now somebody was going to give a man a rub down with fake tan, cant remember who but enjoy.

Ive had a busy day in the garden weeded, had a grass to plant and couldnt find a good spot, so true to form decided to cut away some of the lawn, and didnt that turn into a marathon.  Anyway grass planted and everything watered.  First born having a good time in Menorca, they facetimed this evening and baby Mabel is so brown despite factor 50 dont know where she gets that skin from.  Im off to have a look around now, sorry to anyone Ive missed.

  • Hi Fb, I had a Hedgehog in my garden in daytime , never a good sign. It was on it's last legs. I gave it some water which it drank and some cat food which it ignored. I found a local Hh rescue place and they are looking after it. Anti-biotics and worming apart from Food and drink. It is alive and I can return it to my garden after about 4/5 weeks. 2 others, also young ones had already died. Perhaps the mother was dead and not feeding them?

Anyway, in my experience only the experts can save them. If it recovers with your care then the odds are that it wasn't ill in the first place. Expert help is a must.

Hello everyone image It's got busier now it's not so hot image Ankle is aching tonight but did feel better after swimming this morning, I think it's the up and down and in and out of watering that has caused problems, bending down with it isn't good image

Wish I was going on holiday tomorrow, although I do have a mini break booked next weekend image

Not sure what to do about the baby hedgie FB, I think I would be inclined to out him in a box to rest, but will his mummy abandon him if he isn't with her?  I don't know much about hedgies but do love them image

Just a thought re hedgehog, if you call you local Wildlife Trust (just type the name of your county followed by Wildlife Trust into search engine and you'll get them) they may be able to help - Hedgehogs are one of their things at the moment, they may also know the contact details of your local Hedgehog group.

I'm trying to get water down him with an oral syringe.  I think hes weaned from mum, because he was OK on the lawn a couple of nights ago. I havnt seen a mummy hedgehog and little hoglets, but I think this is one of this years early litter.
