image KEF, that raised a little smile.  Roast dinner planned for later......maybe image

  • Decisions to be made there, Dove. Even if you decide to remove those exposed roots, do think they may re-grow at some stage in the future and undermine your new pond?

Either-ways, good luck with your project.

The roots are going David - the pond will have a flexible liner so any roots that regrow will not crack concrete or a pre-formed pond, and it's going to be a wildlife pond so the shape is not overly important.  Hopefully the pond will last a few years image

I've just given OH a Mars bar image

He's just had two slices of homemade wholemeal bread toasted and a big bowl of chicken and broccoli soup - now he needs a post-prandial nap image

Oh Dove that doesn't look fun! I'm so glad we had a digger for ours.

Come inside to listen to someone I've met through Twitter talk on the radio (BBC Solent) about vegetables in a few minutes time. He's @gardeninggent and really rather amusing!

Just got back from the GC - was looking for a Lonicera Serotina or Belgica - they'd hardly got any honeysuckles at all - will have to try another GC later in the week - however I did get a Sambucus Sutherland's Gold from the Not Quite Dead Yet section £12.99 reduced to £6.49 - lots of healthy buds on it - think someone panicked and thought it was dead, but it isn't image

Party was good last night, not suffering too much today.

Dove - it'll need to be a helluva size of Mars bar....image

Andy - I already have Almost Black and Beaujolais for the darks, and White Frills, White Ensign, Anne Gregg and Jilly for the whites and creams.  My sister is called Jill so if she's very good (or I don't like them image) I may give her some of those....

Making good progress on the biggest raised bed so I'm hoping to put some in there. Nice sunny fence. Will do a couple of pots as well I think. Put some more plants in this morning, and planted the rest of my bulbs...did you hear that nut..image Still not found the little anemones though image

Will need yet more compost - I've got a little bit that I've made but I'm keeping that for later. It's a bottomless pit this bed, but on the plus side, I will need a couple more plants so a trip to the nursery beckons. Wanted a Peony, but didn't think I'd have room, and someone's just posted about them so that's made up my mind. It can go where some of the narcissus are just now image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
