  • Oh dear...I wanted Holland to go through.

Morning all, hope everyone is well image  I was up at 4:10 as my daughter had to get to school for a trip to London today.  So now having a cup of tea before I leave for the salt mines, apparently today is going to be a scorcher so those of you that don't have to work today enjoy your gardens and think of those of us that won't escape until about 8:30 tonight.

Good morning Daisy image  I was rooting for Holland too image

I'm wide awake 'cos we've got really strong winds here - a large beech tree has blown down in a pub garden a couple of miles away  http://www.norwichadvertiser24.co.uk/news/lucky_escape_for_norwich_pub_owners_after_strong_winds_cause_tree_to_crash_down_just_metres_from_building_1_3677749

Don't think we're getting the scorcher - our local forecast says "It will be a generally cloudy day with occasionally heavy rain, possibly with thunder. Feeling cool, especially near coasts with outbreaks of rain. Fresh or strong northerly winds will slowly ease. Maximum Temperature 18 °C. " image

    Good morning Daisy and Doveimage

Hope your daughter enjoys her trip Daisy.  A pretty early start though.  Is it just for the day?

When it's very windy I can't sleep either Dove.  The pub owners and the neighbour were lucky the damage wasn't much worse. Hope you haven't had too much damage in the garden.  It can be so demoralising when your garden is looking so lovely one day and things are lying flat the next.

Just in case I'm out for a walk and miss them - sending a bucketful of moral support for lily and Clari today.

Glad your Mum's scan showed no damage Verdun.  Had to smile at the supper men image  Shame she's still not well but these things can be sorted.

Lovely pics of HC chicky.  Glad you enjoyed it and came home with a souvenirimage

Morning all oh chicky thank you very much I'm soooooo excited now lol can't wait to see hedgehog street although I think our efforts to attract them have worked as I do keep finding poo that I think is hedgehog poo!!! Lol worryingly enough I don't think he's that bright tho as we always find it near the boot scraper ( we joke he's mating with it) or the back door mat!!! Found out yesterday that my cat has a massive tumour and is dying image I'm very annoyed with the vet tho. £675 so far just to be diagnosed with sedation X-rays and blood tests and he was pushing me to spend another £1325 to get an ultrasound and a biopsy Obviously with sedation and x2 overnights.... Now I would spend it but hes 17 years old so I can't think it's gonna buy him much more time, and the time he does have left I want him to enjoy and not be prodded poked and spend in and out of the vets. The vet looked at me as though I was callous and uncaring but it's a lot of money for anyone but it's basically a family holiday!!! So he's on palliative care of steroids. He's in no pain and still as feisty as ever lmao hence they had to sedate him to take blood!!!!! right coffee and paperwork mountain!!! I do have a dilemma I will need all ur help with later xx

So sorry Stacey.  Think you're doing the right thing though,  I heard somewhere that pet insurance is driving people to put their pets through more and more ops and procedures just to buy a few more months, and put their animal through a lot really for the owners sake rather than the animal.  Give you cat best quality of life you can now.

Stacey, sorry to hear about your pusscat image  I do think you're right to not keep throwing money at it - just let him/her see out his days in peace and quiet, not being poked around.   Daughter's much loved cat was diagnosed with a huge tumour just after Christmas, and as she was off her food and having 'digestive troubles' she and hub took the decision to have her PTS there and then, rather than distress her further and put themselves into debt.  The vet agreed with their decision.

Fortunately a few weeks later a friend who works at a cat re-homing charity found the perfect new puss-cat for them image

    Dilemma?  Bring it on image

    Good morning all.

Hugs and support being sent where needed.image

Stacey I think you've made the correct choice, I'm sure your cat would be better at home rather than back and forth to vets.

Chicky thanks for pics. I saw part of last night's programme and recorded the rest, hedgehog garden image I was looking for Dove.

Verdun glad Mum improving lol about supper image My Mum told me she was going stir fry after being stuck at home image

Off to wander around around the forum.
