Morning Dove.  We must have synchronised our get up.

My garage is near Norich Notcutts so that would be my choice for morning mooching.

Can't get along there today Snoodle - that part of the ring road is closed for re-surfacing - or at least it was yesterday and it didn't look as if they were near finishing image.   My car has to go down to the bottom of Grapes Hill then turn left.  I'll walk into the city centre from there - you can't sneak out of the office for the morning can you?

  • I have never lost agapanthus to cold weather but I do cover my 2 large glazed pots with a bin bag which mostly cuts the risk of water logging. Not sure why I do it, but has become a habit. My favourite white varieties are moved into the GH and those in the gravel have to take their chances. They do OK.

    Morning allimage

snoodle - all my agapanthus are in pots that i bring into an unheated GH for the winter.  As woody says, i think it is keeping them dry that is more important than the cold.  We have clay soil.  My Dad has sandy soil and they grow in his garden, without protection, like (very pretty) weedsimage.

Woody - enjoy Hampton Court next week - we are going on the Weds - fingers crossed for no rain !!

Oh would love to Dove, but we've got so much work on, if I suggested it, they'd drag you in to join us!

I have clay soil too, chicky. But I also have an unheated greenhouse so may follow your and WGWboy's example.  Thinking I could put the pots standing in a border.

  • Thanks Chicky, you enjoy it too. I am going on Thursday. I am staying locally overnight  so won't need such an early start as usual, image, and will still start with a full english in the Tiltyard.imageimage. I might be looking for posh furniture for my new terrace.
