Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I have dodgy vision (my eyes don't work very well). I discover that if one goes into profile/preferences on GC, it offers a 2013 formatting style, which gives much greater colour contrasts. This can be easier on the eyes.
One can also turn off signatures; though it seems not bouncing icons
Well, I signed up to Gardeners Corner and I can see that lots of GW people have already posted hellos on that forum but I’m damned if I can see where you type a comment to just say hello. There’s a thread explaining how new members can start a new thread but nothing to point me in the direction of a box like this one where I can just make a simple comment in an existing thread.
I know I’m a dumbo but I don’t understand how that forum works at all. 🫤
It’s been a bad day.
You can't post immediately after joining. You will receive a couple of e-mails within a few hours to complete the process and can then post. At least that's how it worked for me.
I am the same - well, at least my username is - I feel a bit lost. This forum has been a constant in my life even though I don’t often voice my opinions or take part in debates. Thank you for being my invisible crowd where I can feel at ease.
A few years ago, on one of the threads, we were writing silly poems about gardening. I still have my ‘erudite’ contribution:

A very warm welcome to our new members from GW forums!
You just beat me to it
I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
I have clematis of that name in England and my garden in France and I used to have a Jersey cow called Violette.

In the garden all day - I might break into song -
If only that would frighten the slugs.
I'd stop for some tea, but I ran out of mugs -
Well, at least my seedlings are strong.
Nutcutlet, an ID, am I doing things wrong?
Is it just me or are these leaves a bit spotty?
It's sunny today, but it won't be for long,
So pot and repot and go a little bit potty!
