  • I will probably not join the forum as the software is too bad. The font is so small I wonder how pansyface can read that.

I checked it this morning and had the impression that Glastonbury Festival has taken over East Pennard. 😂

    I my garden.

You can just enlarge the font @Simone_in_Wiltshire - on your own device. I do that for various different sites I use.  :)

Just for @Fairygirl and @Papi Jo, the lovely laurel hedge which grows behind my garden and my neighbour's garden 😆. It's at least 12 feet high in places. The neighbour who owns it spends £600 a year getting it cut on his side and the top, including scaffolding. My neighbour and I have the pleasure and cost of trimming it on our side! It does make a good green screen though. I'm delighted to know who to come to at GC if it causes any problems 🤣.

I have nothing against laurel @Plantminded - it gets very big very quickly here, but it's extremely useful for wind filtering as well as screening.  :)
A much better choice for hedging than leyland cypress - because you can cut it back without all the problems the former has!

I inherited one here, which was just randomly plonked in beside the shed. It's now in a bed near the front of the extension, helping to filter the wind, as it's right in the firing line. It has a holly and a mahonia for company, along with a few other things. I chopped a few bits off it recently, and I keep some of those as plant supports. Once the leaves are off, they're very good for that  :)

I actually like it @Fairygirl, just not the assumption by the person who planted it  that someone else would look after the side that doesn't face their garden!

When I was trying to find a contractor to cut my side as I can't reach the top any more, I went to see the neighbour who owns it and he said quite cheerfully that if my contractor wanted to use his garden for access he was quite welcome. I managed not to swear! 😊

I still use a Windows PC for the very reason I find "accessibility" easier. But if you search online with details of your device and the word accessibility features e.g. "iphone accessibility features" I'm sure it will come up with how to enlarge/change the font on any site/app. Over 30 years in IT and I've only in the last few bothered to use the mobile. Too lazy to read the ..... manual(s) I only very recently found on my Android phone I mostly only need to expand my fingers over the screen to enlarge the font - duh!

I don't know the G. Festival nor East Pennard either, but I guess what you mean. The GC site looks as if someone had decided to use all of the bells and frills that are available. It's quite a visual shock as compared with the GW forum's subdued, sleek and classy style. B)
