So sorry to see that the forum is closing.

I’ve only posted a few times but I’ve dipped in and out and gleaned lots of excellent information. Have appreciated all your photos – it’s so helpful seeing plants in real people’s gardens.

Together you have all created and shared such an amazing and generous resource, as well as your time and knowledge.  What a waste that ‘IM’ do not realise how invaluable the forum is, and their announcement (written by ChatBot?) giving you such short notice.

I thought you might like to check out this site - https://www.petforums.co.uk/ (Yes, pets! I used to visit the cat health/nutrition section for advice, many years ago).

I see some have already decided to go to ‘Gardeners Corner’ and the roses have branched off to ‘Houzz’ and you seem to have set up and settled in well.   So this is incase you need a back-up.

PF also has a gardening advice forum https://www.petforums.co.uk/forums/gardening-advice.104/  (not sure my links are working).

It’s not very active but the site is similar to GW re: pages and photo layout, rather than the one-page endless scroll at Houzz and having to click to enlarge photos, I think you can also set up separate picture galleries/albums; admin/moderators; a decent ‘search’ tool; open to overseas members; usual things like ‘clicking on a thread will automatically take you to most recent unread post’ etc.

If you register you can have a better look around the site. It was better before, more user friendly, but they then upgraded it.

    All the best,

    pippip

p.s. Thanks also to @philippasmith2 for the complimentary Zoo tickets.

p.s. Was someone after contacting admin/mods on here – but said their links/tags had disappeared?  I think  Catherine Mansley is still active on the site (click on her avatar to take you to message her and it shows when she was recently active: 9.22am today.

@lunarsea just posted this: Not quite. I used the archiving site mentioned elsewhere to copy the whole of the 'make your own compost' thread and could move from page to page (although it opened a new window each time so you have to clear up behind yourself!).

    Does that help?

@clematisdorset I have posted a reply there. Thanks for the pointer.

Can someone please check whether they are able to retrieve pages 2-10 of @Marlorena's 'rose a day' thread through this link:
    https://archive.vn/3Ve6Q

    Thanks 😊

Thanks @PeterAberdeen. Please can you double check that all those pages were loading from the archive, rather than GW. Pretty please 😊

I just tried it. When I went to page 4, I think it reverted to the live page, but I am not sure. The URL seemed to change. Any ideas?

Yes they were... I kept looking at the URL bar at the top of my browser.
