We still have a good bit of snow, but lots of sun and just above freezing during the day, below freezing at night. I wouldn't be surprised if people start tapping the maples earlier than usual this year. The trees are starting to get buds, too.
I've been starting more seeds and potting on the ones that I started last month. The yarrow are on their second potting on, into taller containers. Really pleased with my growing setup right now; I'm able to raise the lights enough that the little plants get enough light but aren't getting leggy and out of sorts. The only drawback is that I only have two sets of racks and am going to have to slow down on seed starting or invest in another setup.

I walked as far as the shed to check what fertiliser I had. I found a box of growmore absolutely soaked wet through - not sure why as I couldn't see where the water had come from.
I started weeding - lots of geum urbanum in my main bed, then dug out an old Potentilla Abbotswood past its prime. Found out why afterwards, a big ants nest right underneath which the little robin was very happy with. Had to dig out both primulas and native primroses and replanted the latter in the verge outside our boundary where I hope it will spread. Happy to see many bulbs coming through, snowdrops, iris ret., hyacinths, tulips and daffs.
The weather in Wiltshire is going to be warmer than forecast and I will spend Friday after work and the weekend with getting greenhouse organised, cleaning pots, sowing seeds that are due and preparing the garden as long as it doesn't rain too much. We are expecting 50 mm of rain on Thursday.
I am shattered after a couple of hours sortie in the garden. On Friday I stopped taking one of the many tablets prescribed and I feel so much better. I find it disconcerting at how much effect a single very small tablet can have on me. I had almost stopped functioning. I went into the garden to check the patch of white, a piece of waste paper! Was distracted by weeds and spent a couple of hours weeding and transplanting forget me not plants from the gravel path to the pots of tulips. Discovered the patch of cyclamen near the house has increased triple fold, looks like they might become invasive if not watched. Cleared a lot of dead stems from the Restoria which I thought had died but there is new growth coming from the base. My hands were frozen but I felt so good being able to make a start at last. The snowdrops are growing taller, might even be able to see them from the house soon and bulbs are popping up. My pot of narcissus bulbicodium? needs weeding but the foliage is through. They are growing in very gritty soil which they seem to like, I lost so trying to grow them in the garden. Transplanted a bronze fennel seedling from a path to a more suitable spot. I was surprised at the length of its tap root. Made a Ginger and Peanut butter cake when I came indoors. The recipe says to keep for a week before using it. Hmmm, we shall see. A couple of days rain is forecast so I can have a rest then hopefully I will be out in the garden again.
I checked the baptisia seeds I had sown Monday afternoon to see if they needed some water...half of them have sprouted already. I wasn't expecting that!

No gardening today as I went to a GC with a friend but I did buy a Calamagrostis Karl Foerster, a reel of greenhouse All Weather Tape and a bunch of new spring daffodils.
A rest day. Dog walk and a quick grocery shop. Then home to make a casserole using some of the salted pork I put down a couple of months ago. I will have it for dinner tonight. Very soggy everywhere, the rain hammered down again last night so even soggier today. No chance of any gardening.
Yesterday, It was lovely warm with 11 degrees C, I didn't need a jacket and hat, just the fleece pullover. I managed to sow the first hardy annuals. They are now in the greenhouse. I will wait with sowing the half-hardy to see what March's weather will be.
I managed to get a beach dog walk in, in the morning, there were a couple of brief showers but as we reached the car to come home the heavens opened. It was a difficult drive home, so much surface water running across roads from fields already full of water. I have never seen it so bad in the 20 years I have been living down here. No gardening.

Good for you @Joyce Goldenlily, very satisfying.
